"Afterlife of Empire examines the ways in which Bosnian Muslims - native Balkan Slavs - navigated the Ottoman and Habsburg realms, developing a relationship with the new authorities in Vienna and transforming their interactions with Istanbul and the rest of the Muslim world. Broadening these geohistorical and disciplinary confines, this book addresses questions of international law and diplomacy, trans-regional Islamic history, Pan-Islamic thought, and Islamic notions of global modernity"--

Crescent Moon Friends introduces the reader to two best friends Amelia and Aisha. While the pair is from Canada and Afghanistan, the girls reconcile their differences through exploration of the values they share. This book initiates a family conversation about Islam, explores tradition and language, and brings the girls closer together as a result. It is our hope that the book will be used as a teaching tool to help children understand the cultural backgrounds of others, and to create a warm environment for refugees resettling in Atlantic Canada from the Middle East. This picture book is for both non- Muslims who are living in the West, and Muslims who are living outside their home countries. The focus of the book is on tradition, not religion, it also captures the significance of Islam. This is a valuable title for library and classroom use.
The religious minorities of Iraq suffered immense violence at the hands of ISIS and they are now trying to rebuild their lives. In their own words, this book tells their stories of resilience against oppression, creativity in the darkest moments, and hope amidst death. Covering the experiences of the Christians, Kakais, Yezidis, Sunni Muslims and Shabaks, among others, this is an in-depth investigation that reveals how the different communities narrate their beliefs and deal with life and recovery in the aftermath of ISIS.Existing literature on the religious minorities in Iraq treats them in isolation as if they do not interact. This is the first book to show that a strong network between them operates in the absence of a strong civil society and based on a common desire to coexist, reconstruct their society and build peace. Over three years, the author visited religious and archaeological sites and interviewed more than one hundred people between representatives of the religious communities, academics, activists, politicians, policy makers and refugees. Among them are victims and persecutors, men, women and children, all who have been overwhelmed by the tragic events of the last few years. The author shows that all these groups are animated by the same desire for a new, more tolerant society and that their treatment of each other is nurtured by their shared experience of persecution and oppression.

All praise is due to Allah, who has made unshakable decisions, told halal and haraam, given knowledge and understanding of his religion. I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, He is One, He has no partner. He explained in detail the basic principles of Islam through his Pidaar book. Which is really a guide for all communities. I bear witness that our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is a devotee of Allah and His Rasool (Messenger), who has been entrusted with a religion based on Tawheed (monotheism) and Shari'ah for the whole world, including Arabs and Ajam (non-Arabs). Was sent, in which all the people are warmly welcomed. That's why you Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam kept on inviting him and defending and protecting him with unshakable arguments. May the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him and his companions who follow that path and all those who belong to this group. amma baddha (after that):
Know this, may Allah have mercy on you to worship one Allah (and "Tawheed" (not sharing in that worship) (monotheism) is called. This is what all the Rasools (messengers) Has been the religion of, by teaching which Allah Ta'alaSent messengers to his servants. The first Rasool (messenger) is Noah Alaihissalam. His qaum (community) made Wadd, Suwaa, Yaghus, Yauk And when exaggeration about virtuous people like Nasr When he started doing (gulu), Allah sent Nuh (peace be upon him) to guide him, and Last Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam who destroyed the idols of the above mentioned virtuous did. the community you were sent to worship and adoration of Allah, and more of hisUsed to remember (zikr), also do Hajj and charity were, but at the same time he himself and Allah righteous among Ta'ala and some people such as Isa Alaihissalam, Maryam and the angels or other righteous Used to make people medium and used to say that: their By which we get nearness and proximity to Allah want to do, and to Allah these righteousare candidates for recommendation.
All praise be to Allah Rabbul Alameen are for and blessings and salutations be descended on our prophet Muhammad who is the last messenger And the last one is Rasool. Undoubtedly Islam is the best of all religions. perfect, best of all, best of all and last religion Is. And pure intelligence will soon make this religion accepts, because within this religion Variety of excellence, features, policies and There are virtues that were not there before this (Islam) Not found in religions.
Contentment is a great action of the heart, and is one of thechief and most important actions of the heart. Some have said that contentment is the best and brightestaction. The concept of being contented is very important in our daily life. If one is contented, he will live in peace, harmony and happiness. These qualities can't be purchased or acquired through wealth, property, position or fame.
Taybatut-Tayyiba, the city of Rasool Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam, the place of revelation, and the place where Jibreel Amin descended on Rasool Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam, it is the Malza (refuge) and Maawa (refuge) of Imaan, Muhajirin And it is the confluence of the Ansar and the motherland of those who took up residence in this house (Madina) in Ara'i Imaan (i.e. the Ansar), and this is the first capital of the Muslims, in this city of Jihad in the way of Allah. ) The caravans of the Right set out to bring the people out of the darkness to the light, and from here the ray of light (Noor) burst forth and the earth was illuminated with the light of guidance, this is Mustafa Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam's Darul Hijrat is where you migrated, here you spent the last days of your life, here you died, here is your tomb, and from here you will be raised (on the Day of Judgment), and you Prophet's grave will be destroyed first, and there is no definite knowledge of the place of the grave of any other prophet except the place of the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
All praise is for Allaah, we praise Him, seek His forgiveness, andseek His refuge from the evils of ourselves and the evils of ouractions. Whoever Allaah guides, then none can misguide them, andwhoever He misguides, then none can guide them. I bear witnessthat there is no deity worthy of worship besides Allaah the Exalted,Alone, without any partners, and that Muhammad is His slaveand Messenger. As to what follows:All praise belongs to Allaah the Exalted who created, first of all,the pen, and Said: 'Write,' causing it to write everything that willoccur until the Day of Resurrection. Likewise, thanks belong toHim the Exalted who has favored His slaves with the blessing ofthe pen and writing, and mentioned it when He Said (what means):{Nun. By the pen and what they inscribe} [Qur'aan 68:1] So, Histaking an oath shows the greatness of the pen and writing, becauseAllaah the Exalted only swears by something great.
About ten years ago, a distant cousin of mine - Mr.Mohamed Mehtar Farooki gave me a typedquotation by the French historian, Lamartine. Thequotation [A detailed exposition of the quotationwill be found on page 38] purported to prove thatMuhammad (pbuh), the Prophet of Islam, was thegreatest man that ever lived. Mr. Mehtar was in thehabit of passing information on to me, believingthat I might put the same to some good use at theproper time and place. Before this he hadpresented me with "The Call of the Minaret," anexpensive book written by (Bishop KennethCragg). By analysing this book I discovered themasterful deceit of the Christian Orientalists.Lamartine's tribute to our prophet inspired me and2I had a great desire to share his thoughts about ourNabi with my Muslim brethren. The opportunityto do so was not long in coming.I received a phone call from the Muslimcommunity in Dannhauser, a small town inNorthern Natal, who were organising a birthdaycelebration of the Holy Prophet. They invited meto give a lecture on that auspicious occasion. So Ideemed it an honour and a privilege, I readilyagreed. When they inquired, in view of theiradvertising needs, as to the subject of my lecture, Isuggested on the inspiration from Lamartine,"Muhammad (pbuh) the Greatest."
Sayyid Saabiq, may Allah have mercy onhim, said in his book, Fiqh as-Sunnah:Islam has not legalized discharging sexualdesire except through marriage, for Allah, the Exalted, did not want to equate man,his desire without understanding, or thathis relationship with the female be a chaoticone without regulation.
In the Name of Allâh, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.I am grateful to Allâh for the opportunity to read the manuscript ofMuslim Christian Dialogue and for being asked to write an introductionto this remarkably eye-opening booklet. Anyone interested incomparative religion will find in this booklet many surprises thatchallenge what many once believed to be absolute truths. This work by Dr. Hasan M. Baagil reflects his meticulous andpainstaking effort to present his findings clearly, concisely, andthoroughly. As a result of his study of Christianity and the Bible over afour-year period, Dr. Baagil, a dedicated Muslim, learned thatChristians differ in their basic beliefs (i.e., the Trinity, the divinity ofJesus, etc.), that Church doctrine contradicts the Bible numerous times, and that the Bible even contradicts itself! His conversations withChristian clergy and laity during this period of study have provided theimpetus for the Muslim Christian Dialogue. The reader will be surprised to learn that, in the Bible, Jesus (pbuh)never claimed to be God; that he did not die on the cross; that themiracles performed by him were also performed by many otherprophets and even by disbelievers; and that Jesus himself prophesied theadvent of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon both of them. All of these plus much more are detailed from clear and concisepassages of the Bible. The question that obviously must be raised after witnessing such clearcontradictions is: "Is the Bible God's Word?"!The effort here by Dr. Baagil is not intended to deride Christian people, and certainly not to mock Jesus and his teachings, as Allâh forbids suchactivities. The intent is only to point out that false charges, misrepresentations, and outright lies against Allâh and His prophets arein themselves both deriding and mocking in nature.Muslim Christian Dialogue also makes clear the Islamic view andshows how the Qur'an, revealed to the Prophet Muhammad some sixhundred years after Jesus, peace be upon both of them, corrects theerrors that crept (knowingly or unknowingly) into the message thatJesus (pbuh) brought. This booklet should prove to be a very valuableasset to Muslims and Christians, particularly given the interest indialogues between the two faiths. God willing, it will be an effectivetool for Muslims in our efforts to invite Christians to Islam. ConverselyChristians should become more aware of what in fact the Bible says andwhat Jesus (pbuh) actually taught, as a result of studying this booklet.Indeed, as a Muslim, the hope is that non-Muslims will accept the truthand bear witness to the Oneness of Allâh and that Muhammad is Hisservant and messenger.May Allâh reward Dr. Baagil for his efforts to dispel darkness. MayAllâh's peace be upon us all.Muhammad A. Nubee

Islamic institutions have had a very long history, whose performance was muted during the Colonial Period. However, after the Second World War, the revival of the Islamic institutions began. Throughout its history, it had been assumed that these institutions are working for the betterment of humanity. Their target is to achieve a high level of the welfare for the concerned community. Historically these institutions were waqf, zakat and sadaqat. However from the last three decades, Islamic financial institutions have been established with the objective of providing interest- free products, transaction and services for Muslims. However there has been lot of criticism on the performance and role of these institutions. This becomes especially pertinent in a Muslim country like Indonesia, where there is a dire need to know that how these institutions are working and if it is possible for them to achieve the objectives of the Shari'ah. Some scholars have claimed that these institutions are performative and only serving 'lip service', and there are no significant differences between the Islamic and secular institutions where both kinds of institutions operate on the same foundations and differ only in use of technical terminologies. This volume aims to analyze some of the Islamic institutions which are operating in the world's biggest Muslim country, Indonesia, as a case study and analyze the contemporary Islamic Banking products and practices in the light of 'Maqasad al-Shari'ah'. The book's objective is to propose an improved system of Islamic institutions for Muslims to refer to. This volume will also analyze why these institutions are currently not able to comply with the Maqasad al Shari'ah and how it is possible to enhance the level of economic development, social wellbeing, individual freedom and equality, elimination of injustice and poverty, and achieve the other targets of the Maqasad through these institutions.
