This book is the first nearly complete (poetry and verse omitted) translation of the only known personal manuscript notes of a Sixteenth Century Commedia dell'Arte performer. This is a very important work for anyone interested in what such actors said and did in their improvised performances. Included with the literal translation are the detailed play outlines from the twenty plays in these manuscripts. In the original the outlines are terse and ambiguous, making them difficult to perform, but this book provides versions of each of them that have been resolved into clear entrances, exits, motivations and actions for every scene. Performers get playable plays, as well as examples of prologues, monologues and one-liners that this Sixteenth Century actor thought were worthy to write down.

Estudio del léxico religioso en documentación notarial riojana del medievo constituyeuna contribución más al análisis riguroso del vocabulario romance riojano contenidoen instrumentos notariales de La Rioja custodiados, principalmente, en el ArchivoCatedralicio de Calahorra-La Calzada. A partir del estudio de casi centenar y medio dedocumentos (cotejados con los originales), se hace acopio del corpus que conforma elléxico religioso y se ofrece un preciso análisis filológico mediante la confrontación delas palabras investigadas con un amplio repertorio bibliográfico.En el presente libro destaca, asimismo, la importancia otorgada al valor de la fidelidadtextual mostrada en el cotejo asiduo de los textos editados con los documentos originalesy en la recogida de todas las variantes grafico-fónicas, imprescindibles para elestudio de la grafemática y de la fonología históricas. Fruto de este esfuerzo filológicoes la aquilatada interpretación semántica, que rinde aportaciones precisas a la historiadel léxico medieval riojano, en particular, y del hispánico, en general.

Este libro es un estudio sobre la obra que supuestamente escribió el primer obispo que ocupó la sede de Santo Domingo, el humanista italiano Alessandro Geraldini, entre 1519-1524: Itinerarium ad regiones sub aequinoctiali plaga constitutas. Hasta ahora se habían reproducido las versiones latinas de dicha obra y ahora, con este ensayo, anexamos la transcripción y la traducción del manuscrito italiano, firmada por Pompeo Mongallo da Leonessa, que se conserva en la Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal, sin olvidar la otra copia italiana de la British Library de Londres. También se han añadido dos glosarios, uno de términos y otro de topónimos, con el fin de proporcionar información lexicográfica y geográfica provechosa tanto para el lector hispanohablante como italoparlante.
