Lotopu'e mangrove forests play a very strategic role in fisheries, and hence food security, at the community and the national levels. They constitute the only established mangrove habitat in the Aleipata district in the east of Upolu Island. These coastal ecosystems also provide coastal protection, minimize lagoon and reef sedimentation, and offer a sanctuary for many useful animal species. These valuable natural resources, however, are experiencing huge pressures generated by both natural and man-made disasters. The degraded state of the mangroves intensifies the combined impacts of global warming, sea level rise and climate change, and reduces the potential for carbon sequestration. The study findings showed that despite the strong natural regeneration of the two true mangrove species (Bruguiera gymnorrhiza and Rhizophora samoensis) found in the survey area, prompt external interventions are critical to alleviate the threat. The village of Lotopü¿ neither have the capacity nor the resources to rectify most of the problems, hence the government and all stakeholders, with vested interest, should shoulder the burden.
More and more feature-rich services are being created, and people¿s expectations for quality of experience (QoE) are increasing. The predominant broadband access solutions deployed today are the digital subscriber line (DSL) and community antenna television (CATV) / (cable TV) based networks. However, both of these technologies have limitations because they are based on infrastructure that was originally built for carrying voice and analog TV signals, respectively; but their retrofitted versions to carry data are not optimal. Currently deployed blends of asymmetric DSL (ADSL) technologies provide 1.5Mb/s of downstream bandwidth and 128kbits/s of upstream bandwidth at best. Although variations of DSL such as very-high-bit-rate DSL (VDSL), which can support up to 50Mb/s of downstream bandwidth, these technologies have much more severe distance limitations. Passive optical networks (PONs) have evolved to provide much higher bandwidth in the access network. It is a point-to-multipoint, fiber to the premises network architecture in which unpowered optical splitters are used to enable a single optical fiber to serve multiple premises.
By 2025 Lahore, one of the significant urban cities of Pakistan is predicted to be severely impacted by physical water scarcity. There is the serious need to find other trustworthy methods to prevent the future water crisis, in urban city Lahore. Currently, Lahore is going through the phase of rapid population growth; unchecked immigration; reckless urban sprawl followed by undue extraction of groundwater. The water table of Lahore is depleting with an average rate of 55cm (0.55m) per annum, while the recharging water resources of Lahore aquifer are diminishing. Ravi which is the main source to recharge Lahore aquifer has become no more reliable due to continuous reduction in its flow especially after the construction of Thein dam by India on river Ravi. The difference between recharge (2192 mcm/year) and discharge (2619mcm/year) from the groundwater is 427 million cubic meters per year. In this scenario, rainwater can be used as a reliable substitute of fresh water resource. There is also a need to reduce the reliance on central water supply system. Lahore, with an average annual rainfall i.e. 616.82 millimeters (24.48 inches) is suitable for rainwater harvesting (RWH).
This study aimed at examining the relationship between conflict management styles used by Sana'a university (forcing, cooperation, compromising, avoiding and accommodating) and organizational commitment at the three levels (individual, group and university). The study was conducted at Sana'a university on a random sample of employees (N= 204) from different faculties, departments and centers. Questionnaires were designed for this objective to collect the data required; these data were used, through descriptive statistics and correlation analysis, to examine the relationship between conflict management styles and organizational commitment at the three levels, individual, group and university. The correlation analysis was used to examine the relationships between the five conflict management styles (forcing, cooperation, compromising, avoiding and accommodating) as independent variables and the dependent variable i.e., Organizational commitment (at the levels of individual, group and university).
This book examined Chinese tourists dissatisfaction for Thai restaurants in Chiang Mai province through complaint analysis. In recent years, the independent travel has become a new trend. The number of Chinese tourists has increased year by year, which contributes to Thailand¿s economy. Chiang Mai, known as the northern rose, attracts a lot of Chinese independent tourists for its unique natural scenery and historical culture. According to the consumption concept and behaviors have changed, the purpose of travel is not to go shopping but taste the delicious food at destinations. As for Chinese individual tourists, they mainly find restaurants according to Dianping application¿s recommendation and comments. This book is based on the Customer Satisfaction. The author identified the problem about the high dissatisfaction for Thai restaurants in Chiang Mai. The data source is about Chinese individual tourists¿ online comments in Dianping application. By using the knowledge management tool ¿text analysis¿ to capture the data and analyze them. At last, the author found the root cause and developed a knowledge manual, shared and verified it to three Thai restaurants¿ owners.
Heliostats typically contribute to about 40 % of the total installed costs in a concentrated solar power (CSP) tower plant. The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of heliostat size on the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE). These effects are analysed in a power tower with a net capacity of 100 MWe with 8 hours of thermal energy storage in Upington, South Africa. A large, medium and a small sized heliostat with a total area of 115.56 m2, 43.33 m2 and 16.69 m2 respectively are considered for comparison. The heliostat cost per unit is calculated separately for the three different heliostat sizes and the effects due to size scaling, learning curve benefits and the price index is considered. The annual operation and maintenance (O&M) costs are estimated separately for the three heliostat fields, where the number of personnel required in the field is determined by the number of heliostats in the field. The LCOE values are used as a figure of merit to compare the different heliostat sizes. The lowest theoretical LCOE value of 0.1960 $/kWhe is achieved using the medium size heliostat with an area of 43.33 m2 for this power tower configuration.
A field experiment was conducted during rabi season from 13th October, 2017 to 19thFebruary, 2018 at plasticulture farm of CTAE Udaipur, (Rajasthan). The net water requirement of chickpea crop was found to be 70 mm under single irrigation at pre-sowing only, 144 mm in double irrigation at pre-sowing with flowering stage and 216 mm in triple irrigation at pre-sowing, flowering stage and pod filling stage. Mulching and irrigation frequencies significantly influenced the growth and yield parameters like maximum plant height (77.67 cm), number of primary branches/plant (28.50),number of pods/plant (37.33), average weight of pod (0.32 gm), number of seeds/pod (1.85), seed weight/pod (0.21 gm), yield/plant (9.96 gm), yield/plot (3.22 kg) and yield/ha (20.29 q) at harvest The maximum yield (20.29 q/ha) was recorded in treatment T5 i.e. combination of M1 (PPWM) and I2 (double irrigation) Further maximum net income of Rs 22354/ha with output: input ratio of 1.49 was also recorded under the same i.e. treatment (i.e. T5). However, the highest water use efficiency of 2.553 kg/ha-cm was recorded in treatment T4 i.e. combination of M1 (PPWM) and I1(single irrigation).
In this book, the operating principles underlying the operation of junction devices and field effect devices are clearly presented in an easy style. To facilitate the understanding, the electron emission phenomenon and the electrical properties of semiconductors are also introduced. After studying this book thoroughly, the student would be able to develop himself alone in this important branch of science and engineering. The reader needs only background in elementary physics, mathematics and circuit theory for easy understanding the material of this book. There are a number of good books covering electronic devices. However, this book is unique in its treatment of the electronic devices since it introduces the device in an easy to understand fashion with physical as well as engineering insights.
Public healthcare generally refers to government funded health-care services available to all members of the population. It is a cost-effective health care system that supports the health care needs of a community or population funded directly by the government. The Public healthcare system in India comprises a set of state-owned health care facilities funded and controlled by the government of India. Some of these are controlled by agencies of the central government while others are controlled by the State governments. The Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) facilitates the public healthcare system¿s overall functioning by supporting the state and local levels which are more directly involved in healthcare service activities. The main objective of MoHFW at the national level is to facilitate effective and efficient administration by the states and the local health authorities. Indiäs public healthcare system follows centralized planning and policy making along with decentralized implementation. At the national level, the govt. persuades the states to work towards specific health objective and priorities. It also provides the necessary technical support for this.
This book is about application of xenograft in bone healing. Bone grafting is performed to restore bone that has been lost due to trauma, tomurs, osteomyelitis etc... That requires replacement. Bone grafts are necessary to provide support, fill voids, and enhance biologic repair of skeletal defects. Different bone grafts have been reported for bone healing using. Biologic bone grafts can be divided into the following subtypes: autografts, allografts, xenografts, synthetic materials, and any combination thereof. Bone grafts can be employed for functions other than to stimulate bone formation within a defect. Anonlay graft laid over facial bone surfaces could augment the cheek prominence or restore facial contour. Xenografts are grafts shared between different species. There are several studys about using different animals in xenografting such as canin, cattle, porcine and coral graft.
Generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy involve many operational losses. Whereas, losses implicated in generation can be technically defined, but transmission and distribution losses cannot be precisely quantified with the sending end information. This illustrated the involvement of non technical parameter in transmission and distribution of electricity. Overall technical losses occur naturally and are caused because of power dissipation in transmission line, transformers, and other power system components. Technical losses are computed with the information about total load and the total energy bill. While technology in on the raising slope and also note the increasing immoral activates. With a technical view, Power Theft is a non ignorable crime and at the same time it directly affected the economy of the country. Manual calculation electrical bill has become more illegal and error system now days. At this point of technological development, electrical billing can be made Automatic manner.
Due to high demand in production required in the food processing industry, there is a need to develop a machine vision system which can perform the activity of human operator. This machine will be able to replace human vision perception in terms of inspecting and grading defective and healthy banana in food processing industry. This will save time, reduce the chances of hazard that human operator can be exposed as a result of the working environment. Also, a standard production will be encouraged due to the fact that machine vision will be designed in such a way to determine whether the banana is defective or healthy in the field of production. In this book, a comparative study on intelligent sorting system for banana has been suggested. The system is based on image processing and statistical texture feature extraction. This work is made up of two phases which are image processing phase, and the second phase is the classification phase.
Between 1999 and 2008, Kosovo was placed under international administration, with the aim of rebuilding all the necessary administrative, judicial and political institutions for the correct functioning of a democracy. In 2008, following its declaration of independence from Serbia, the international presence had not abated and is still active in various fields, most importantly those concerning the rule of law. The EU in Kosovo is currently funding the largest ESDP Mission in its history - the EULEX, responsible for the day-to-day management of the rule of law - while it also treats Kosovo as a ¿potential candidate country¿ providing accession funds through its EC office in Kosovo.
