What happens when 'go, make disciples' meets 'Black Lives Matter'? Arising from the Council for World Mission's "Legacies of Slavery" project, this book offers an unapologetic exploration of Christian Mission and its history, and the ways in which this legacy has unleashed notions of White supremacy, systemic racism and global capitalism on the world. Contributors reflect on the past and consider the future of world mission in an age of renewed understandings of empire and its impact. Contributors include Mike Higton, David Clough, Eve Parker, James Butler, Cathy Ross, Jione Havea, Peniel Rajkumar, Victoria Turner, Carol Troupe, Michael Jagessar, Paul Weller, Jill Marsh, Kevin Ellis, Rachel Starr, Kevin Snyman, Al Barrett and Ruth Harley.
Church Beyond Walls tells inspiring, informative and occasionally funny stories of how a group of people took Christian spirituality outside of church buildings to engage a world increasingly uninterested in religion, God and faith. From imaginative and wide-ranging experiments, it draws out principles to inspire local churches to express their faith in their communities, and it shares liturgical and other resources developed for these occasions. Based in Brighton and known as BEYOND, for over ten years this group of dreamers, artists and provocateurs have experimented with public art, created light shows and walking meditations, partnered with retailers to create spiritual shop window trails, celebrated the festivals of the church in secular spaces, used folk traditions and more to introduce people to the Christian faith. Their goal and the aim of this book is to help local churches create opportunities for epiphanies: moments when the divine can break into human experience.
This book is a personal testimony of the life of Michael Higgins, founder of Jesus Loves You Love Him Back feeding ministry, based in Orlando, Florida. It chronicles Higgins' life from three different perspectives-before he started using cocaine, to the 23 years he suffered under its soul-shredding spell (losing everything dear to him in the process), to that glorious moment when God miraculously delivered him from the bondage of drug addiction and many other vices that had consumed him. It also chronicles Jesus Loves You Love Him Back feeding ministry, which God entrusted to him after he was finally clean and sober. What began in 2009, with feeding 25 homeless folks in downtown Orlando, has since mushroomed into feeding 250,000 meals, spanning four countries so far...and counting...After receiving their 501c3 early in 2014, Jesus Loves You Love Him Back feeding ministry now feeds the homeless once a month in Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota and Miami Florida. They have also done feedings in Philadelphia, PA., New York City, New Orleans, LA. Nashville, TN. Chicago, IL., Las Vegas, NV, Los Angeles, CA., Cancun, Mexico, various locations in Brazil and the Philippines.
Scott Knudsen transports you on a highly personal trip through his compelling storytelling, illustrating the transformational power of accepting life's obstacles and delving into the depths of his own experiences.

Most of his missionary endeavors on behalf of the Telugu people were based at Madanapalle, where he helped to build a hospital, church, and other institutions. Transition into the ethereal realm of Indie Author Nelson Colón, where shadows and redemption entwine in a divine dance. His harrowing memoir transcends the ordinary, plunging you into an alternate dimension painted with the raw hues of pain, addiction, and indomitable hope. Nelson's journey unfolds with visceral intensity-A childhood marred by searing abuse; the deafening void left by an absent father; and relentless battles against bullies, gangs, and the malevolent forces that stalked his every step.Venture into the intricate labyrinth of his life, where he grapples with the crushing weight of low self-worth, drowning in the chaotic currents of drugs, alcohol, and toxic relationships, all the while seeking refuge in the dark allure of the occult. Yet, in the crucible of despair, a resilient flame ignites, transforming his narrative into a lyrical symphony that resonates through the deepest chambers of the soul. This is more than a memoir; it's a call to confront your inner demons, shatter the chains of societal oppression, and ascend toward healing and liberation. A haunting melody that lingers, echoing long after the final word is read.Nelson Colón, a native New Yorker, unveils his autobiographical masterpiece, intricately navigating the challenges of his early life. Through personal journals, Colón offers an intimate look at his tumultuous upbringing against the vibrant, chaotic backdrop of the 1960s and 70s in New York City. Supernatural encounters and a profound epiphany during his Navy service add layers of depth to this remarkable story, making it a vivid exploration of resilience, redemption, and the regenerative human spirit.{Approximately 228 pgs.}
The objective of this book is disciple-making from the Acts of the Apostles in an effort to restore the teaching of Jesus in making disciples. Acts is the greatest manual we have on making disciples. Luke details what "Jesus began to do and teach" while making disciples who make disciples (Acts 1:1). It explains how to become a disciple of Jesus and be involved in the disciple movement. Today is a significant time to help people emotionally and spiritually by accepting the teaching and practices of Jesus Christ. The first disciples participated in making disciples, planting congregations to praise God in worship, and going into community service. In this setting, the body of Christ needs revival teaching principles of reaching man with the gospel of Christ through personal teaching. Relational Bible Study is a teaching method to persuade people to follow Jesus as a disciple in all aspects of life. Roger E. Shepherd has been a serious Bible student, teacher, and evangelist involved in disciple-making for fifty-one years. He also is the Director of the Ministry Institute at Amridge University, Montgomery, AL. He has a Doctorate in Missiology from Fuller Theological Seminary and a PhD in New Testament text from Amridge University. He teaches Bible, evangelism, church growth, and mission classes. He has worked in local church ministry and disciple-making missions in America and several foreign nations. His passion is personal teaching the lost and conducts several workshops each year to train people on how to make disciples who will make disciples in the local church.
THE POWER OF GOD's LOVE is so overwhelming in its Depth, its Height, its Width, and its Greatness, that no human mind can fathom it, although some have attempted to describe it
Through this eight-week small group Bible study, Gospel in Life, Timothy Keller explores with participants how the gospel can change hearts, communities, and how we live in the world.
This book, "Come Back Home, My Son. I Still Love You", is the first book in the series: "God Loves You." Missionaries pour their lives into the task of loving others, sharing hope, and laboring for the sake of Christ. While their deep commitment bears much kingdom fruit, it can be easy for them to neglect their own emotional and spiritual well-being. For this reason, Caring for the Harvest Force in the New Millennium contains essays on various topics related to caring for missionaries and those they serve. Member care is a broad subject encompassing many disciplines and so the contributors do not intend to cover the entire gamut of such an expansive, evolving topic. The chapters in this book are arranged into three sections: Theological Foundations for Care Giving, Challenges for Care Giving, and Contexts for Care Giving. The local church is learning not only to provide money but to encourage, mentor, and provide emotional support. Mission agencies are now aware of the complexities of selection, training, sending, and supporting missionary families. While there is room for improvement all around, the mission workforce is better educated, trained, and finally, better cared for in the field. With years of foundational experience behind us, how do we care for the harvest force in the new millennium? This volume helps readers answer that question.
God has worked through the church over the course of history. It is a story of tragedy and triumph, success and failure. Learning to draw from the past is crucial for the work of the future. Harvard philosopher George Santayana's oft quoted "Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it" applies as much to missiology as it does anything else. Therefore, the contributors in this volume remind us of the past in ways that are helpful for evangelical mission in the present and future. From ecumenism to Pentecostalism, from activism to education, from the local church to William Carey, this book provides important missiological "bricks" with which the future will be built.
The seventh installment in the EMS series provides presentations originally given at meetings held in November 1998. Topics include the biblical and missiological foundations for training evangelical pastors and missionaries, contextualization of curriculum, Christian higher education, and case studies in both postmodern settings as well as traditional ones.
The lands where Muslims, Jews, and Christians have encountered each other are littered with the ruins of fortresses. Each faith community built barriers to keep out the enemies of their faith. The present studies look at the barriers erected by peoples considered resistant to the gospel, and the bridges God is using to carry the gospel to them.
Many bemoan the decline of the church. But new research shows that unchurched Americans are surprisingly more receptive and open to the Christian faith than is commonly assumed.Researcher and practitioner Rick Richardson unveils the findings of the Billy Graham Center Institute's groundbreaking studies on the unchurched. A study of 2000 unchurched people across the country reveals that the unchurched are still remarkably open to faith conversations and the church. Further research into the top 10 percent of churches that most effectively reach the unchurched reveals their best practices. People who were previously unchurched share what actually moved them to faith and Christian commitment. And research shows that churches and organizations can be transformed to become places where conversion growth becomes the new normal. If people tell you "the sky is falling," don't believe them. You can lead the change that will help your church reach people-who then reach others.
"The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17 KJV).GO! Evangelism is a new paradigm that challenges all to immediately answer the evangelical call and provides the confidence to embark on the "Great Commission." This book shows the anxious heart of our Heavenly Father who laments humanity's lack of faith but also desires all believers to proselytize and plant the seeds of the gospel."GO!" is a simple yet powerful command with profound implications. For too many souls, the gate of Hell is blocked only by the obedient, sacrificial, and God-glorifying work of evangelists. Therefore, "GO!" removes all the stumbling blocks of traditional proselytizing methods, and harkens to the Lord's request so all believers can immediately testify the gospel. Many "GO!" Evangelists experience the power of the Holy Spirit directly and embrace their transformation into amazing people of God. Spencer wants to share the abundant blessings of a prosperous Christian life with all the believers living in America.GO! Evangelism has been obedient to the Lord, entirely relying on the power of the Holy Spirit. These powerful Seeds of the Gospel are available at GO! Ministry sites:www.GospelTracts.orgwww.BibleTracts.orgObeying God's command to "GO! and Plant" means embarking on the road with the conviction to sow the powerful "seeds of the gospel" within hearts as we firmly believe in God's almighty sovereignty and power of salvation. Now, Spirit-filled "GO!" Evangelists full of holy zeal, joy, and enthusiasm are springing up like wildfire all over the United States. God is now saving countless lost souls through their faithful dedication and fervent love for the Lord.
There are different kinds of people moving out of rural areas into urban centers, moving from the North into the South daily; different kinds of people among northern migrants and immigrants in the neighborhood of the Church. And there are also different kinds of believers in the Church who interface and interact with these different "people groups" daily in the marketplace. This daily interfacing between migrants and believers into host communities present great ministry opportunities for believers to reach their kind with the gospel of salvation. This book presents the constantly changing kaleidoscope of migrating "people groups" into the neighborhoods of all our churches today. The author then suggests linking up specific social -economic groups within local churches with these migrating 'people groups' for the purpose of Gospel outreach. Reach Your Kind in Diaspora Missions clearly highlights for believers that irrespective of their location, profession, church affiliation and station in life, each should reach his/her kind. It gives a specific list of 'people groups' among migrants in order to make the work of Diaspora Missions more focused and effective.Right where you stand... reach your kind in diaspora missions.

In spite of man's penchant for going against His will and commandments, God's abiding desire to rescue us from eternal perdition which we brought upon ourselves has never waned. Evangelism is more than a program. it is a purpose. Every now and then, every once in a while that is the way we evangelize in today's Churches. Few see it as a purpose. But picture a church where evangelism is simply part of the culture. Evangelist Leah Aransiola show us in this book that sharing your faith consistently and openly is a purpose. This book will encourage members and leaders to follow biblical examples.Such is the way of evangelism presented by this brief and compelling book. No program here. Instead, it just might give your church a new way to live and live out their purpose altogether.
"The author remains an inspiration to me and many others who are in constant need of new information and revelation for ministry to the children of Ishmael and Missions. This book is fresh from the throne of grace, for me, knowledge has just been unveiled to us and when I found it, I devoured it. The book to me is first and foremost a healing balm. It exposed the hidden and silent anger and hatred in my heart towards Ishmael. It made me to understand that my responsibility is to wage warfare of peace on them, and the instrumentality of my warfare is the gospel of peace. I can wage this warfare of peace everyday and anytime with every part of my body.I now know better that the Ishmaelites are in desperate need of peace and I am the peacemaker who has been endowed with the ability to give them peace. Whenever I wage peace on them, I am blessed in return (Matthew 5:9). I must see them as they are (perishing sinners in desperate need of what I have to offer-the gospel of peace). I recommend this book to all believers who want to see the will of God done on earth as it is in heaven; believers who are in desperate need of solution and guidance on how best to approach evangelizing the children of Ishmael.Let us arise and wage peace on Ishmael."Godwin Aluge, Missionary, Nigeria. "I have had the privilege of reading books published by the author and have been immensely blessed and spurred into actions by them and by the life and commitment he blazed. Waging Peace on Ishmael is a timely material that can bring healing to the hurts and answers to the mind-boggling questions. This book, in my humble opinion, is an attempt to bring the church into a correct perspective of where God stands NOW as far as Ishmael is concerned and to bring the church to stand with God on this prophetic time of harvest. I sincerely recommend that every believer in Christ read this book and take action and that churches use the material as a Bible study resource in equipping the saints for ministry among the Ishmaelites." Experience a missionary's explorations, the thrilling successes and crushing disappointments that represent a lifelong commitment to the arduous task and awesome responsibility of introducing Christ to the idolatrous peoples of India. Chamberlain spent nearly 50 years in India as a missionary doctor of the Reformed Church in America. Most of his missionary endeavors on behalf of the Telugu people were based at Madanapalle, where he built a hospital, a church, and other facilities, all with the purpose of ministering Christ's love to people who could not save themsleves. In his books and writings Chamblerain eloquently articulated the Great Commission.
Over many years, a hundred writers sat at their desks with the same aim - to write about 300 words that would grab the reader's attention before telling them the Bible's wonderful good news of salvation from the penalty of sin and the certainty of new life with God. What they produced were published as 'tracts' (leaflets) and printed along with many others in their tens of thousands to be distributed on the street or posted through letter boxes. These 100 tracts have been collated here in this book for two main reasons. Firstly, to keep on 'sowing the seed' - our prayer is that many who need the good news of the Gospel will read this book carefully and their life be transformed to fruitfulness as a result.Secondly, there are many 'seed-sowers' looking for ways to share the good news, and perhaps some of the illustrations used here, along with the key Bible verses and the clear explanation of salvation, will be helpful to you. Please use the material freely. If you would like to obtain printed versions for distribution, many of these leaflets are still available to purchase from the publisher.
From history, the goal of the Gospel has always been to raise men and women that will rule for God anywhere they are found- in the Media, Judiciary, Leg- islature, Executive, Civil Service, Colleges and Universities, Non-governmental agencies and the private sector. The goal is to raise rods- people who will rule with a rod of iron, and dash Satan and unrighteousness to pieces as the vessels of a potter, Rev.2:27.
