For many years, I went by the name Antoni Muldoon and worked as a professional con artist. I must have stolen more than £100 million from diligent individuals overall. I lost nearly everything I had accumulated when I was inevitably discovered for my crimes and sent to prison. One thing I kept was my awareness of the various con games that con people out of their money on a regular basis. I made the decision to utilise my knowledge to help others avoid falling for the same kinds of scams that I used to run. I'm calling this series of books on various scams the Scam Busters Series, and this one is the first in the series. Every book will walk you through a distinct fraud, so regardless of whether you have been duped This is the first book in the series, and perhaps you will enjoy it and find it helpful if you have ever fallen into the timeshare trap or are about to fall into it.In the inaugural installment of the Scam Busters series, Antoni Muldoon shares his insider knowledge of timeshare frauds. He makes note of what to watch out for and what not to do. This will come in handy should you ever fall victim to a timeshare scam.

The LNCS journal Transactions on Large-Scale Data- and Knowledge-Centered Systems focuses on data management, knowledge discovery, and knowledge processing, which are core and hot topics in computer science. Since the 1990s, the Internet has become the main driving force behind application development in all domains. An increase in the demand for resource sharing across different sites connected through networks has led to an evolution of data- and knowledge-management systems from centralized systems to decentralized systems enabling large-scale distributed applications providing high scalability. Current decentralized systems still focus on data and knowledge as their main resource. Feasibility of these systems relies basically on P2P (peer-to-peer) techniques and the support of agent systems with scaling and decentralized control. Synergy between Grids, P2P systems, and agent technologies is the key to data- and knowledge-centered systems in large-scale environments. This, the third issue of Transactions on Large-Scale Data- and Knowledge-Centered Systems, contains two kinds of papers: Firstly, a selection of the best papers from the third International Conference on Data Management in Grid and Peer-to-Peer Systems, Globe 2010, and secondly, a selection of 6 papers from the 18 papers submitted in response to the call for papers for this issue. The topics covered by this special issue include replication, the semantic web, information retrieval, data storage, source selection, and large-scale distributed applications.

Excerpt: Paul Edgar Philippe Martin, PC (born August 28, 1938), also known as Paul Martin, Jr., is a Canadian politician who was the 21st Prime Minister of Canada, as well as leader of the Liberal Party of Canada. On November 14, 2003, Martin succeeded Jean Chrétien as leader of the Liberal Party and became prime minister on December 12, 2003. After the 2004 election, his Liberal Party retained power, though it was reduced to a minority government. Forced by a confidence vote, the 2006 general election produced a minority government for the opposition Conservative Party, making Stephen Harper prime minister. Martin stepped down as parliamentary leader after the election, handing the reins to Bill Graham for the interim. Martin stayed on as party leader until he resigned on March 18, handing that post to Graham. Martin served as the Member of Parliament for the riding of LaSalle-Émard in Montreal from his election in the 1988 election to his retirement in 2008. He served as Minister of Finance from 1993 to 2002. He oversaw many changes in the financial structure of the Canadian government, and his policies had a direct effect on eliminating the country's chronic fiscal deficit by reforming various programs including social services. Martin was born in Windsor, Ontario. His father, Paul Joseph James Martin, a Franco-Ontarian of Irish and French descent, served thirty-three years as a member of the Canadian House of Commons, and was a Cabinet minister in four Liberal governments. His mother, Eleanor "Nelly" Alice (née Adams), was of Scottish, Irish, and Métis descent. He has one sister, Mary Anne. Martin grew up in Windsor and Ottawa. To give him the opportunity to ...
