This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 23rd International Conference on Innovations for Community Services, I4CS 2023, held in Bamberg, Germany, in September 2023.The 15 full papers and 4 short papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 38 submissions. One invited talk in full-paper length is included in the volume. The papers focus on topics such as distributed architectures and frameworks for community services, advanced applications regarding digital communities on the move, new trends of socialization covering the ambient work and living of digital societies.

This book constitutes the 16th edition of the annual Multi-Agent Programming Contest, MAPC 2022. It gives an overview of the competition, describes the current scenario. The first paper describes the contest in general and this edition in particular, focusing on the organizers¿ observations. The following papers are written by the participants of the contest, describing their team of agents and its performance in more detail.

This Festschrift volume, dedicated to Jifeng He on the occasion of his 80th birthday, includes refereed papers by leading researchers, many of them current and former colleagues, presented at a dedicated celebration in the Shanghai Science Hall in September 2023. Jifeng was an important researcher on the European ESPRIT ProCoS project and the Working Group on Provably Correct Systems, subsequently he collaborated with Tony Hoare on Unifying Theories of Programming. Jifeng returned to China in 1998, first to the United Nations University in Macau and then to the East China Normal University in Shanghai. He has since founded an Artificial Intelligence research institute that focuses on the application of technology in large-scale industrial software systems. His scientific contributions have been recognized through his election to membership of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.The first paper in the volume provides an overview of Jifeng¿s research contributions, especially inthe area of formal methods, and the following two papers detail developments in UTP and rCOS (refinement calculus of object systems). In the next two sections of the book, the editors included papers by colleagues and coauthors of Jifeng while he was at the University of Oxford and engaged with the European ProCoS project. The section that follows includes papers authored by colleagues from his later research in China and Europe. The final section includes a paper related to Jifeng¿s recent roadmap for UTP.

This book focuses on how to install C/C++ compilers on Linux and Windows platforms in a timely and efficient way. Installing C/C++ compilers, especially Microsoft compilers, typically takes quite a lot of time because it comes with Microsoft Visual Studio for the vast majority of users. Installing Visual Studio requires usually about 40 GB of disk space and a large amount of RAM, so it is impossible to use weak hardware. The authors provide an easy way to deploy Microsoft C/C++ compiler: with no disk space headache and hardware resources lack. The method described saves significant time since software can even be deployed on removable devices, such as flash sticks, in an easy and portable way. It is achieved by using Enterprise Windows Driver Kit (EWDK), single big ISO image, which can be mounted as virtual device and used directly without any installation. EWDK contains everything from Visual Studio except IDE. EWDK also allows to use MASM64 (Microsoft Macro-Assembly) and C# compilers. With the aid of the MSBuild System, one can compile Visual Studio Projects (.vcxproj) and Solutions (.sln) without even using Visual Studio! Similarly, MinGW compilers can be deployed from 7z/zip archives, simply by unpacking into appropriate location. Durch die Nutzung der Low-Code-Programmierung ist es hingegen möglich, Softwareanwendungen ohne tiefe Programmierkenntnisse mittels einer grafischen Benutzeroberfläche zu erstellen. Der Vorteil: Es können passgenaue Lösungen in kurzer Zeit entwickelt werden, indem sich Beschäftigte aus Fachabteilungen mit ihrem Expertenwissen direkt an der Softwareentwicklung beteiligen. Allerdings fehlt es in vielen Betrieben an Wissen zu den Anwendungsmöglichkeiten und -grenzen dieser Art der Programmierung. Zudem ist es derzeit für potenzielle Anwender oftmals unklar, wie eine anforderungsgerechte Low-Code-Plattform ausgewählt und eingeführt werden kann.
