Ion crevit in templo Apollinis et servit deo, donec invenitur ab matre sua, quae eum reliquit infans. Mater et filius se mutuo non agnoscunt, et fabula tractat de coniunctione eorum. In fabula, advenit etiam Xuthus, maritus Creusae, qui non cognoscit Ionem esse filium suum.
