The third installment in the Happy Hoo-Ha trilogy, The Happy Trail takes readers into the waxing booth with Brazilian wax queen, M.E. Nesser, for a hilarious, eye-opening look at her illustrious careerUsing poetry, stories, and illustrations, Nesser sheds light on a rarely discussed, but integral part, of millions of women's beauty regimens. With sass and spunk, she regales readers with the most hysterical, cringe-worthy, raunchy, and just plain strange situations she's encountered while bending over lady bits wielding hot wax. Lighthearted and fun, Nesser takes a literally painful subject and turns it into art, refusing to listen to anyone who would say her work is not suitable for polite conversation.A celebration of the human body, sexuality, and the things we do for beauty, The Happy Trail will delight and titillate anyone who appreciates a good story that starts with dropping underwear.
Sarah Martinez has always felt different. She cant explain what is missing, but she knows this cant be all there is. She dreams of living on her own in an apartment in downtown Portland, but deep down she fears that even moving out of her parents house in the suburbs wont satisfy the longing in her soul. Then she discovers something unexpected in her great-grandmothers attic, and a new dream begins to grow within her. Living in a time when the United States is a churchless, closed nation under military rule, Sarah has never thought much about the existence of God. But soon after her discovery she is being pursued by gangs of men who seem possessed by a supernatural power. Then she meets Justin, a mysterious stranger who claims that judgment is coming and he can protect her, but at the cost of all that she has known. Soon Sarah is swept up in an adventure that will test her new-found faith and change her life forever. Does she really believe? Will she really leave everything behind?
Some books simply entertain us, while others help us wrestle with life's deepest questions. The House on Neptune is one of those rare books that does both. With humor, honesty, and keen biblical insight, Brian Robbins brings Christians face to face with one of the Bible's great themes which, if we believed it, would change everything in our lives. Planet Earth, he says, is not our home. He shares the experiences and Scriptures which have convinced him that Christians are better off to seeing themselves as "strangers and aliens" here, and makes the case that when they do so, life is more fulfilling even this side of eternity. Along the way, he brings his down-to-earth teaching style to topics of universal importance, and challenges us to imagine what our lives would be like if we were willing to take the radical words of the Bible seriously. Brian Robbins is a pastor, a husband, a father, and a follower of Jesus Christ. He grew up in small mountain towns in northern California, and has lived in cities of various sizes all over the western United States. He holds a bachelor's degree in English, and has completed nearly half of a specially customized twenty-year plan to finish his seminary training. He has served as a youth minister and college minister, and is now the lead pastor of Faith Baptist Church of Lincoln City, Oregon, the same church where he was a brand-new staff member when this book was written. Some of Brian's favorite things are backpacking, basketball, reading, cheeseburgers, teaching the Bible, and spending time with his wife Carey and their growing family. This is his first book.
The premiss of this work is that all pupils, including those with special needs, can learn mathematics effectively within the mainstream curriculum. Drawing on case studies, it shows the implications of inclusive education for classroom teaching, whole school approaches and teacher development.
