For Cat Lovers Everywhere: A new book of cat poems with cat art has arrived, written by the author of "Poems by my Cat." This book contains a collection of 24 poster poems featuring fine art illustrations of cats. Each poster, first designed to be printed individually with their own specific look, combines a piece of cat art with an original poem inspired by each cat or cats presented. "This was a work of love - how could it not be? I had been blessed with a project to write about cats! The poems delve into the character of cats and tell stories revolving around cats, while still touching upon the human condition. And in some poems, a cat seems to speak directly from the art itself. "It is hoped cat lovers will be delighted with my poetry, but I know they will be charmed with the art. Here you will find the whimsical, anthropomorphic cat art of Louis Wain as well as more realistic portrayals of our feline friends. "So come and meet these cats and discover what fanciful feline dreams they stirred to life." - Carl Scott Harker The artists included in this book of feline poems are: Louis Wain, Theophile Alexandre Steinlen, Cecil Aldin, Sir John Tenniel, Jean-Léon Gérôme, Emile Munier, Abraham Teniers, Bruno Liljefors, Ida Rentoul Outhwaite, Henri Rousseau, Katsushika Hokusai and Pierre-Auguste Renoir.

When you live in material poverty, but are awash in spiritual wealth... that is what the poems in this book are about. Have you ever been poor? Perhaps, you were poor when young or are now old and poor or were poor sometime inbetween. These poems are for you. Your struggles, like my own, are pretty much everyone's. And if you have never been poor? Then you should read these poems, too. It will round off your education. The poetry in this book is based on my personal life, my observations of others and of observations of the world at large. I think it is important to understand how we see ourselves, more so, than how we are reflected in others' eyes. This subject of personal poverty amongst spiritual wealth is explored through serious poems and light poems. Note that most poems have a touch of optimism - as that is whom I am. I am more concerned with the inner person - that I am and that you are. These poems are my way of talking with you.

Over the last few years, I, the author of this work, have published several books of poetry written for a general audience. In reviewing those previous books, I realized many of my poems are ones I would have enjoyed finding when I was ten or so. "The Hedgehog" is a collection of those poems just right for reading by a younger audience - children ten years and older. This book contains silly poems such as "What Does A Spider Mean Within My Dream?" and "The Cat and the Day of the Special Fog" and more serious poems like "The Little Girl with Dyslexia" and "White Snow Like Fur Covers a Tree in Yosemite." Some might think that reading poetry is too challenging. But good poems provide clues to their meaning and incentives to read one line and then the next and then the next... And when you have reached the last line they provide a reward - which may be laughter, or wisdom, or a story, or a better understanding of yourself, and sometimes all of the above. The poems in this book are good poems - and I think children will have fun reading them!

I wrote the Trump poems in this book, much as do any of my work. My muse would absorb the events of my day and then force me to write what was most necessary to express. And while, Trump's narcissism caused him to be in our faces constantly, I could not always withstand the pain he was causing and sometimes hid away. Thankfully, I found other more important topics to write about during those moments. Still, I had to write about his evil. And so you have this gathering of what I consider to be my Trump poems, which were originally scattered within three other books of my poetry. To me, Trump is a man of glass, which so easily allows one to peer into the dark core of his heart. How clearly I could see that he did not care about anyone, but himself. His actions and words expressed so loudly that he was capable of any injury to others, as long as it made himself feel bigger. How I wondered, that over these four years, so many were blind to the obvious dangers of this man. The answer is found in some type of malignant super charisma that Trump has. Of course, Republicans were delighted to use him in their pursuit of riches, power and the control over women, the poor & non-white people. Supported by their political propaganda machine, Trump was able to fool most of the people too much of the time. The poems in this book, were my cries in the wilderness from early 2017 up to the election of 2020. I offer them now as an indictment of Trump's character and as a warning that we must never allow such a person to ever again, be in reach of the levers of power.

Here is a collection of 46 paintings and drawings by the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt. This is a sampling of his best work.Known as a symbolist, Klimt enjoyed painting women with an erotic tinge and playing with color. He had a style, though similar to that of Art Nouveau, that was uniquely his own. He won many artistic awards for artwork that still pleases us today. In this book, you will find colorful landscapes, some seemingly impressionistic and some almost abstract. There is also collection of portraits where striking portrayals of people are presented. Examples include "The Kiss" and the "Portrait of Adele Bloch Bauer," painted during Klimt's "Gold Period." And finally, you will discover a series of nude subjects to delight the eye and imagination. So welcome to the amazing works of the master artist, Gustav Klimt!

A Lifetime Lease On obtaining the vampiric seal Precious blood you will learn how to steal, So give it a try You just have to die, To make immortality real!In this updated, second edition, you will find an expanded collection of cartoons and limericks. Here are vampire limericks - like the teaser presented above, naughty limericks, Star Trek cartoons and other cartoons and limericks, interspersed with personal tidbits and humorous commentary. According to the author: The genesis of this book was simple. I was looking for vampire limericks to do a Halloween reading at a library and couldn't find any. So I wrote a few 5-line poems about the undead to fill the void, so others would not have to face a similar problem. This was not enough material to fill a book, though. So I have added in other limericks written and published over the years, as well as some cartoons and a short story. This is me at my silliest. For readers and fans of my more serious poetry, I am happy to present a lighter side of my work!

This book provides an overview of the traditional weapons used by the Samurai of Japan - on the battlefield and in their role as bodyguards.Throughout the hundreds of years of history that the Samurai class was active in Japan, the Samurai became synonymous with the ideal of the honorable warrior. It is the closeness by which the individual Samurai came to such an ideal, that their appeal to the imagination still lives today. We are fascinated with Samurai as well as their cousins, the Ninjas, and the Knights of old. So it is not surprising that the legends of the Samurai have had strong effect on our popular culture. The book also takes note of other icons of Japanese cultural. Through articles, images and poetry, the story is told.Carl Scott Harker is the author of twelve books of poetry, books on the paintings of Gustav Klimt and Vincent Van Gogh and other works.

Here is the author's third book of poetry. This book contains poems written over the last 2 plus years. From late 2016 to August 2019, the world has experienced a tremendous increase in social and environmental pressures and this poet could not escape such influences. Whether it was the day to day corruption oozing from the White House or the more and more obvious climate crisis, world events have seeped into our lives. In the search for truth, it is in such times as ours, that it is the poet's job to reflect on what is going on around us. Hopefully, I have refined some of what has been pressed into our lives into poetic fine vintages for you to enjoy and ponder. There are poems about our environment and the climate crisis. And there are poems about the current President of the United States. Other issues of our times are touched upon as well. But this book also contains lighter verse, including a couple of limericks and several quatrains. And there are the usual searches for beauty and universal truths, that are found in our regular and more common daily events. So captured here in these poems is a slice of time I hope you, the reader, will find both entertaining and thought provoking. And with some humility, I hope that future historians will find some value in this book of poetry when they seek to understand what was going on in these years.
