A Visit Home is a collection of short stories, a sketch and a few poems. Many of the works are based in Wales, the Midwest and its Celtic community. The stories, most of which are based in truth are intended for amusement. The poems are more seriously based and are the authors comments on life and the world.
Eleven year old Marged Evans is upset when her mother turns off the TV and sends her outside with her brother to explore. She hears of the myths, legends and the histories that surround the cave on the edge of their hill farm. Being so intrigued by the stories she goes back alone the next day and what she finds deep in that cave will change her life forever. Although this is a work of fun and fantasy, it, unlike similar works by others uses a minimum of fantasy enabling the main characters to weave through a variety of historical happenings. Sometimes we forget that seemingly isolated, small communities are touched by many things that take place in the world at large. Mixing the fantasy of time travel to light up reality can make most of history a desirable, knowledge giving adventure. The book is a Midwest Book Award finalist.
In this second book of The Timeless Cavern series Marged Evans and her friends continue their work in helping people find their right time. They have to tackle one adventure after another while dealing with the menace of the stumpy man. Disappearances, Dam burtsings and sheep rustling are on the list of the many things they have to tackle
