Composed of poems and letters written during quarantine, this book is a commemoration of all our losses during the pandemic: the precious lives that were lost to COVID and the different types of losses we suffered that affected our overall wellbeing. This collection is especially dedicated to my own people who have been fighting valiantly, for generations, in order to preserve their lives, their homes, and our lands. The Promise of the Pomegranate Tree is a celebration of the resiliency of the human spirit, represented by the pomegranate tree, a prominent Armenian cultural symbol. I hope that all people are blessed with the abundance, prosperity, and good fortune that the Nur symbolizes.
"Written in a series of snapshot, near stop-motion prose, Meri Tumanyan's The Girl with the Purple Umbrella follows a mother and daughter on an ordinary rainy day. As the daughter explores and the mother rediscovers myriad wonders ubiquitous to a winter day, the book comments on love, relationships, and fleeting time that makes the here and now so precious." ~Dr. Nathalie Joseph
Never Be Anyone Other Than You is a celebration of the uniqueness and individuality of every child. Children are often more in tune with the world and more perceptive than we think. In fact, there's much we can learn from our children's intuitive nature, their openness to new experiences, their strength in character, their little acts of kindness, and their mindfulness as they explore the simple joys in life that we adults often take for granted. In the process of honoring our children, celebrating their talents, attributes, and personality traits, we help them develop confidence, a sense of self-worth, while modeling for them how to appreciate and respect the individuality of others around them.
A fathers role in the upbringing of a child is a crucial one. Fathers can be as loving, nurturing, and devotional as mothers are. The values and principles acquired through certain life experiences become critical lessons they transfer to their offspring, enriching a childs worldview. This book is a tribute to all dads, including my own, but its especially dedicated to the father of my children whose unconditional love, sacrificial spirit, and boundless energy for them has not only evoked love in our children but it has also inspired this book. Daddys Waltz is my title for a song he made up to help our sleep-fighting babies fall asleep.
