This book is a survey of the events of the time of Obama. It is as much of a political blog as it is a history book. Two thirds of the book is about the Elections of 2012 and 2016. It is written in real time. The author started out disliking Obama and ended up liking him because "Trump makes Obama look like an angel." This book is not recommended for anyone who adores either Obama or Trump.
This book is half history book, half political blog. Most of my other books focus on foreign policy but not this one. I start out disliking Obama and end up liking him at the end because "Compared to Trump, Obama is an angel." I liked Trump a lot in the summer of 2015. He was my candidate. But then he did too many many things to offend me and on Election Day 2016 I voted for a Democrat for President, and that i something I thought I would never do. This book includes a survey of many events of Obama's time, but two thirds of the book is about the Elections of 2012 and 2016. This is not intended as a polemic, which means that it is.

This is a history of the Civil War with emphasis on events on the Southern side. The North is involved in many of the major battles, of course, but on the political side, it is all about the CSA. The author is from Boston, so don't expect any pro-South bias here.
