Research Paper (postgraduate) from the year 2020 in the subject Leadership and Human Resource Management - Miscellaneous, grade: A, Columbia International University, language: English, abstract: In modern high-tech healthcare, human resources have a heterogeneous structure. They cover a wide range of specialists doctors, medical workers (nurses, midwives, rehabilitologists, laboratory assistants, etc.), psychologists, social workers, programmers, lawyers, teachers, economists, etc. To achieve effective human resources management when working with personnel in the health care organization, leaders and managers must implement a broad team approach. If the members of a team join forces and focus on expressing their real potential, minimizing shortcomings, the team¿s goals will be successfully achieved. The consolidation and integrity of individual team members is key to the success of the organization. Often medical organizations with fewer employees achieve better results than those with a large number of medical specialists.

Essay from the year 2017 in the subject Earth Science / Geography - History of Geography, grade: College, State University of New York College of Environmental Science & Forestry, language: English, abstract: The French Revolution brought the Caribbean slaves equality, fraternity and the long-awaited freedom. Negros and mulattos of Haiti demanded that the slogan of ¿liberty, equality and fraternity¿ was applied to Haiti as well as to France. To defend their demand, they conducted for decades one of the most severe and most bloody wars in the history of Western half-globe. Haitian Revolution, being one of the most important episodes of struggle of liberatory fight of modern times, found a wide response worldwide. It has helped to undermine the foundations of slavery system. The victory of the revolution in Haiti dealt a serious blow to the colonial system and contributed to the rise of the liberation movement in Central and South America. Independent Haitian government provided military assistance to the fighters for independence in Latin America. For the termination of the slave trade Spain paid UK about 400 thousand pounds. Although in Cuba slavery was finally abolished only in 1886.

Academic Paper from the year 2017 in the subject Health - Nursing Science - Miscellaneous, grade: -, Medical College of Georgia, language: English, abstract: Nosocomial infections, having arisen at the dawn of the first medical institutions, became an increasingly complex and urgent problem of medicine. In modern conditions, the incidence of nosocomial infections, to a certain extent, reflects the quality of medical care provided to the population and is one of the important components of economic damage in practical health care.According to research conducted by a single methodology under the auspices of WHO in fourteen countries, an average 8% of hospitalized patients infections are infected with with nosocomial infections. In the European region, the incidence of nosocomial infections is more than 7%, in the United States - about 5%; mortality is 2.7% (El-Saed, Balkhy, & Weber, 2013). The most common variants of nosocomial infections include nosocomial pneumonia, urinary tract infections, catheter-associated infections, and pseudomembranous colitis, or antibiotic-associated diarrhea. It should be understood that the localization of nosocomial infection depends on both the etiology of the pathogen and the source of nosocomial infections. Approximately 1 in 10 cases ends in death (Boev & Kiss, 2016). However, at least half of the infections are preventable. Policies and programs to combat nosocomial infections are aimed at this prevention.

Seminar paper from the year 2017 in the subject Sociology - Individual, Groups, Society, grade: MA, Oregon State University, language: English, abstract: This paper analyses India's caste system from Ancient to modern. During the 20th and the beginning of the 21st centuries, many countries of the East developed along the path of modernization of social, political, and socio-economic life. In some states, this process was interrupted by social explosions, which led to a rollback to the past. Others appeared capable of finding a viable balance between traditional and modern values. In both cases, specific political systems emerged, which are characterized by the coexistence of Western democratic principles and traditional social institutions. Thus, in India, on the one hand, the involvement of the caste in political life led to some transformation of this ancient social structure and retained its position in modern society; on the other, it created such a phenomenon as "democracy of the castes".Castes/jati are formed on the basis of a related self-organization; they have a different origin, but most of them go back to archaic tribes and tribal fragments; they are characterized by endogamy, hereditary profession, originality of culture. Ideological substantiations of the caste mode of communication are directly related to the fundamental concepts of Hinduism, dharma, karma, and sansara, which describe Indian ideas about the laws of the existence of the Universe and nature.Modern Indian society is distinguished by its phenomenal mosaic composition. Numerous and diverse linguistic, ethnic, confessional, caste groups not only coexist, but they are intertwined in the fabric of a social organism. Indians' identity is usually vague; its different variants come to the fore in different contexts; they overlap and complement each other. Entire communities do not have an unambiguous scientific nomination.

Master's Thesis from the year 2018 in the subject Politics - International Politics - Topic: Globalization, Political Economics, grade: MA, Columbia Universität New York, language: English, abstract: In comparison to other types of social relations, one characteristic is peculiar to international relations: their core is political interaction. This is because in the absence of a legitimate center of power, international relations represent a continuous process of rivalry and harmonization of the interests of states. However, in the second half of the 20th century, the importance of the economic factor has immeasurably grown in the life of the international community, producing in many ways a new quality of international relations. This is manifested in some events and trends. Firstly, after World War II, relatively actors new in comparison with states, such as global economic organizations, transnational corporations, and banks that had taken an important place in international relations, including in the sphere of power relations, entered the world arena.

Essay from the year 2018 in the subject Politics - International Politics - Topic: Peace and Conflict Studies, Security, grade: MA, , language: English, abstract: The events taking place in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan at present (such as the withdrawal of foreign troops, the strengthening of the Taliban forces, the increase in drug trafficking, the change in the ruling elite) are of concern to the entire world community. Preservation of stability and security in Afghanistan and the region of Central Asia requires a more thorough and coordinated approach from all stakeholders in this process. The current stalemate resulting from the attempt to forcefully unleash the "Afghan knot" once again demonstrates to the world the futility of a military solution to the problem.

Essay from the year 2017 in the subject History - Miscellaneous, , language: English, abstract: The defeat of Germany, on the side of which the Ottoman Empire fought, in the First World War, the military setbacks, and discontent in the country, and, finally, the surrender of Turkey in October 1918 put an end to the power of the Young Turks, who defended the integrity of the empire. The Allies annexed all of its external possessions. The question arose what post-war Turkey should be. In these difficult days, the Turkish people, led by new leaders, whose main goal was the independence of all Turkey, took over the decision of the issue. On the wave of national-patriotic upsurge in April 1920, in Ankara, a new Majlis was elected - the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. The chairman of the Assembly was Mustafa Kemal Pasha (known as Ataturk), who proclaimed the new body the only legitimate authority in Turkey. The problem of the role of Kemal Ataturk in the recent history of Turkey has long attracted the attention of orientalists by its relevance, complexity, and versatility. However, it is especially noteworthy that, at a critical stage in the development of the Turkish state, Kemal Ataturk found the strength, courage, and talent to re-evaluate the role of his country in the world history, lead the struggle for national liberation and independent development of Turkey. Thanks to this, Ataturk eliminated the caliphate, was the first among the Turks who turn views towards civilizational Europe, and, taking advantage of the fact that the country is fighting for national liberation, ended the Sharia, the sultanate, and the caliphate, intensified the policy of Westernization, managed to convince the Turks that the secular nature of the state with a careful attitude to the traditions of Islam is the guarantee of the country's further well-being. He is regarded as a person who sought to turn Turkey to Western culture. Thanks to him, Turkey has become the only Islamic country that has embarked on the path of democratic development and acceptance of the values of Western civilization.

Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2018 in the subject Environmental Sciences, grade: College, Columbia International University, language: English, abstract: Since the 19th century, the countries of the Western world have entered the era of the industrial revolution. The new way of life, the development of science and industry had a huge impact on all aspects of society. At this time, in the major cities of the world, problems of a social, economic, and environmental nature were sharply aggravated. In the middle of the 19th century, ecology emerged as an independent science. The birth of a new direction of research was, on the one hand, the result of the progressive development of knowledge about nature, and on the other hand, a precursor of the ecological problems of the planet already accumulating by that time. Architects and city planners of the time began to propose various urban planning concepts, in which an attempt was made to solve new problems generated by the development of technical civilization. Similar theories and concepts continued to be advanced later, throughout the 20th century. At present, the concept of sustainable development, which aims to create a high-quality living environment that satisfies all the demands of society, is becoming increasingly used (Hall 2014b). The concept of a sustainable city has gone through a long evolutionary path of development, the consideration of which is of great interest for understanding the essence of the concept and its practical implementation in the cities of the world.

Essay from the year 2017 in the subject Theology - Comparative Religion Studies, grade: MA, Yale University, language: English, abstract: This work focuses on liberation theology. The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that the variability of Christianity in the modern period has increased and made it extremely dependent on social processes. The all-human spiritual crisis promotes the spread of so-called "religiosity without faith." In some cases, this happens not spontaneously, but through the active transformation of the traditional religious system. More and more extremist and nationalist groupings turn to Christianity as an ideological basis, while they modify Christian theology in such a way that it justifies their methods of political struggle and supports their slogans. These groups rely on the experience of building similar ideologies using the dominant Christian confession as a religious component, namely, liberation theology.Liberation theology or, otherwise, political theology is a modification of Christianity used by freedom fighters as an ideology. In fact, it is a specialized consciousness of a separate social group, and it aims to liberate members of this group from oppression. The content and characteristics of the liberation theology are determined by the characteristics and interests of one or another oppressed social group. There are several types of liberation theology, in which there are three main ones: Latin American, Black, and feminist, created, respectively, in the interests of the poor, Negroes or women. The future of liberation theology directly depends on how much its representatives can move from ideal concepts to practical conclusions. The Church must take more seriously the problems of injustice and oppression, it must take the side of the outcasts and be a pioneer in the foreshadowing of all kinds of liberation: economic, social, political, and, of course, spiritual.

Diploma Thesis from the year 2016 in the subject Law - European and International Law, Intellectual Properties, grade: MA, Columbia International University, language: English, abstract: The second half of the 20th century was characterized by a worldwide trend in the development of foreign economic trade relations, and, as a consequence, the complication of the legal regulation of market relations in various international contracts: commercial, financial or cross-border provision of services. In the context of globalization, which covered all spheres of society's life, the content of international trade turnover is changing. Its modern distinctive features are the following: the expansion of trade items (apart from the traditional trade in goods, also trade in services, intellectual property, capital is increasingly taking place); the emergence of new types of contracts (factoring, franchising, etc.); strengthening the role of universal international treaties on trade, services, intellectual property; the emergence of new world markets for currency and capital; stepping up of the activities of international economic organizations; introduction of new information technologies into the trade. The indicator of growth in international trade turnover is also the growth in exports. The rapid growth of the modern world economy, the rapid development of economic and scientific and technical cooperation between different countries lead to the fact that ¿the world economy increasingly acquires the features of a single organism beyond which no state of the world can function properly¿

Academic Paper from the year 2017 in the subject Cultural Studies - Miscellaneous, grade: MA, Yale University, language: English, abstract: Currently, particular relevance is acquired by the values and beliefs regarding the role of women and men in society, and the associated gender stereotypes and attitudes. They are regulated on a deeper mental level of social consciousness, rooted in the distant past, the most stable and transmitted from generation to generation. This layer is formed in the course of a long history of the development of society and has a variety of aspects: the historical, social, economic, cultural, religious, political. The gender approach in social philosophy interprets gender as a social sex, and therefore socially constructed relationship can be represented as inequality based on gender. The problem of studying the phenomenon of gender identity in the context of its ethnic component is of considerable philosophical interest primarily because the development of this phenomenon reflects the rapid social changes, some common civilization trends. The problem of mutual perception of gender groups is difficult in research, because of the fact that the perception of the same phenomena and processes by the different ethnic communities is not the same. Thus, it is rational to consider gender stereotypes in the context of ethnic stereotypes as a special case of social stereotype. The problem of stereotypes is particularly acute in the era of the information society, when the emergence of new technologies creates a new kind of thinking and new possibilities of perception. Mass cinema forms in a sense, the epic of our time - creates a mythologized view of the world, reinforces in the minds of the audience the key media image modeled, in particular, by other means of mass communication. The paper considers the connection of gender and ethnic stereotypes with the representation of Asian women in films. The object of this study is the representation of Asian women in films in the context of ethnic and gender stereotypes as a social phenomenon. The subject of the study is revealing of features of visualization of images of Asian women in films. The purpose of research is to identify the specifics of the visualization of images of Asian women in the film industry as a phenomenon of gender and ethnic representation. The choice of methodology is due to feature the object and subject of study. Thus, the study is based on the basic provisions of the gender approach. This study can be used as a complement to the theoretical research of methods of visualization of gender images in the films

Academic Paper from the year 2017 in the subject Sociology - Habitation, Urban Sociology, grade: MA, University of Pennsylvania, course: Urban studies, language: English, abstract: The processes of globalization, taking place at the present stage of social development, have led to profound social changes. Institutes and values, stereotypes of economic and social behavior of different population groups are changing. Qualitative changes in social conditions had an impact primarily on socio-economic processes in cities, on the rhythm, style, and lifestyle of the urban population. Economic, social, and political transformations in modern society have received the most pronounced territorial dimension, affecting primarily the cities that are the locomotives of these transformations. In the US, historically developed cities have a clear and compact layout, a mixed character of building-up due to the geographical, transport, and economic factors of the time. However, in the last sixty years, a completely different model of development has appeared. Cities began to grow along the highways and around urban and rural centers due to the appearance of a large number of private cars, cheap fuel, inexpensive land and growing prosperity. Housing construction with low population density began to threaten agricultural lands and damage open spaces, raise public services costs, and encourage people to leave large cities. All this has led to traffic jams on the roads, degradation of environmental and quality of life. Such a model of settlement could arise due to the current town-planning norms of zoning of the territory, which separates residential development from workplaces, shops, and schools. These norms put car drivers in a predominant position in relation to pedestrians.

Essay from the year 2018 in the subject Politics - International Politics - Topic: Peace and Conflict Studies, Security, grade: MA, University of Oregon, language: English, abstract: The present work focuses on radicalization and political radicalism. In modern conditions, political radicalism is an integral component of the political life of many countries, manifested in the activities, value orientations of the ruling and opposition elites, as well as ordinary citizens. Being a multifaceted phenomenon, in the era of globalization, it is transformed and modified, assumes various types and forms adequate to new civilizational challenges and risks. Historical and modern events eloquently testify that radical methods of solving socio-political problems, especially those that are actualizing in the conditions of crises, are often used by the authorities even during periods of stable development. In the situation of the current economic crisis, which became structural and went beyond the economic sphere, the radial moods of the actors in the political process, as well as the activities of various radical and extremist organizations, became much more active. Political extremism and radicalism, as its variety, are among the most ambiguous and multifaceted problems of modern political science. In recent years, researchers have been actively investigating the causes, essence, and content of this phenomenon. Modern political realities necessitate the analysis of manifestations of radicalism burdened with negative meanings. In this context, it is necessary to analyze the concepts of "radicalism" and "extremism," reveal their similarities and differences. The similarity consists in rejecting compromises, demanding a radical reorganization of existing social and political institutions, and as soon as possible. The difference between these concepts is relative, conditional. Radicalism, as a phenomenon, is more a kind of political ideology, justifying radical actions. Extremism is a concept that characterizes mainly political practice.

Essay from the year 2019 in the subject Design (Industry, Graphics, Fashion), , language: English, abstract: In connection with the complication of the world, the expansion of the information field of culture, not only the object-spatial medium of the human environment changes, but also the value-semantic and aesthetic parameters of its functioning. In the third millennium, the problems affecting the human environment were aggravated due to the growing environmental crisis, etc. However, at the same time, new opportunities have opened up in improving information systems and intercultural integration which is gaining the pace, that allow expanding the possibilities of transforming living space, finding more adequate ways of adapting a person in adverse conditions. Hence, modern human pays special attention to the form of arrangement of his life activity, which has received the name "design." In recent years, the question of the essence of design and its role in contemporary culture is increasingly drawing interest of not only practical designers, but also sociologists, culturologists, philosophers, and other representatives of social and humanitarian knowledge. Design, expressing the 'project culture' of a post-industrial society, emphasizes the process of changing aesthetic criteria and improving the industrial form. Strengthening the role of modern design is associated with the growth of global problems, and its tasks depend on solving ecological, urban, ethnographic, humanistic problems of culture.

Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2017 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: MA, Oregon State University, language: English, abstract: In recent years, the global economy is undergoing profound structural changes. Globalization, the constant change of inter-sectoral boundaries and even their disappearance, the intensive change of technology, the promotion of knowledge in the first place among the driving forces of competition, the emergence of new organizational forms, mass mergers and acquisitions are forcing modern organizations to constantly change. Changes are becoming a key element of modern theories of organization and strategic management. As part of the resource approach to the organization, one of the key competitive advantages of a company is the presence of its dynamic abilities - the ability to realize the need to change, and then to reconfigure internal and external competences to use the opportunities created by the rapidly changing environment. Thus, modern scientists believe that the ability to change on time and in the right way becomes one of the determining factors for the survival and success of any organization.Changes constitute the meaning of modern organizations activity. In a constantly changing environment, their development is not only a result of natural evolution but also the result of a focused effort by management and personnel service. One of the forms of development of an organization is represented by organizational changes, which, in turn, predetermine changes in the content of management activities: it is less focused on administration and more on changes. The conditions of organizational change require "creative management" that promotes the generation of new knowledge, ideas, and their natural perception by managers at all levels and staff. In line with this, organizational changes are becoming one of the most significant factors in improving the management of an economic entity, which necessitates modernizing approaches to human resource management and giving new status to HR services. At the same time, organizational changes not only provide for meeting existing needs but also create new needs for employees and enterprises.

Essay from the year 2018 in the subject Business economics - Economic and Social History, Columbia Southern University, language: English, abstract: The paper is about the dispute between Chinese mandarins and British merchants during the 19. Century and the consequences for todays development of bilateral trade and political relations between advanced then capitalist England and feudal China. It has to be noted that, in recent decades, there is a decline in interest in clarifying the East-West problem, creating a system of well-arranged historical description of the emergence and development of commercial organizations, the most prosperous of all known to humanity and controlled by a group of London merchants. All aspects of its activities deserve careful study: the beginning of establishing links between England and the East, the creation of an empire, the policy of neo-colonialism, maritime trade with China, as well as the causes and consequences of opium wars. The growth and volume of trade relations between England and the East overshadowed the period of the long and difficult struggle of the East India Company for the establishment of these relations. Therefore, a thorough, detailed, and comprehensive study of the processes and origins of the development of bilateral trade and political relations between advanced then capitalist England and feudal China is one of the most important and relevant tasks in understanding the historical experience accumulated by mankind, above all, political and social experience.

Essay from the year 2017 in the subject Economics - Finance, grade: MA, Yale University, language: English, abstract: International Finance Center (IFC) are an integral part of the modern international financial economy. One of its basic components is the availability of developed national financial markets, actively interacting with similar markets in other countries. As an example, the United States can lead the UK, Japan, in economic development which play an important role the financial markets, and the major cities of these countries (New York, London, Tokyo), are the major international financial centers. Cities can be seen as the gateway to the global economy. They are important for the functioning of both national and global economy, since they are concentrated huge financial, informational and intellectual resources, based most of the major industrial, commercial, financial and service companies, specialized credit and financial institutions and banks. In addition to traditional MFC in the last decades of the 20th century a number of new financial centers competing for the role of international. The acceleration of globalization and especially its financial component, led to an increase in strength and influence regional financial centers, in particular, such as Hong Kong (Hong Kong). The financial market of China, which is traditionally considered to be emerging financial markets have long been a mature international financial centers that have an impact not only on the regional economy, but also in the distribution of global capital flows. The study of the functioning of the MFC, their development trends is the most important area for the understanding of the new global economy, its characteristics and movement mechanisms. At the same time identifying new trends in the development of Asian financial centers, particularly their inclusion in the competition for international corporations have mastered the financial market, is both scientific and practical interest. This makes it possible to identify local features of financial globalization as a result of the connection and the active development of the Asia-Pacific Economic Space with new financial centers, show their role, prospects and competitiveness in the global economy. Of particular importance is the study of the development of Chinese financial market, especially given the fact that the IMF has recognized the yuan a freely usable currency, reflecting the expanding role of China in world trade, a significant increase in the use of the yuan in the international scale and the growth of operations with it.
