With a merry heart and a plan on his mind to make a special, birthday gift, Trebiel (pronounced Tray-bel, which sounds like trouble), a delightful, chubby-cheeked cherub sets out across the Kingdom toward God's royal forest where the trees resist and the creatures frown on his behavior. Before long, he finds all his efforts turn into one-big disappointment (so he thinks). Discouraged, he heads to the Scroll Area only to lose his balance and to spiral into the vast expanse of open space. With a sudden jerk, the cord around his waist tightens. Hanging limply in mid air, Trebiel put his hands to his head to stop the spinning. He realized that he wasn't alone. "Let it be anyone, but Gabriel," he moaned softly. "What have I caught?" a low-guttural voice asked. Trebiel began to tremble. He knew this voice was not from anyone from heaven. Slowly, he turned his head. Dark sinister eyes starred at him blankly. "Let me go!" Trebiel pleaded as he squirmed within the tight grasp of an evil spirit. "Let me go!" "Nothin' doin'," the fallen angel insisted. "Since when did one of God's Angels become ungrateful?" Trebiel dangled helplessly. From the throne room, two-long blasts of warning from the trumpet went out across the Kingdom. All the hosts stopped what they were doing and looked toward the Temple of God.
Tina leaned in close and studied all the fine details, with her nose almost buried in the book. She moved her finger across the page and toward a picture of a giant wave rolling onto the shore. The wave looked as real as any she had ever seen, if she were standing on a beach by the sea. Most unusual. She paralleled her face with the book and drew in even closer. "Ah!" she gasped as water splashed onto her face. "Blah." She stuck out her tongue and flew backward onto the chair, causing the chair to teeter on the back two legs. She threw her weight forward to catch her balance. As the chair slammed back onto the floor, Tina's head went forward and into the book. "Ah!" she gurgled after swallowing a mouthful of salt water. "Blah! Blah!" she spit, quickly rubbing her tongue with the back of her hand. "Yuk!" Leaning further back from the table, Tina gazed down at the book wide eyed. The picture on the page came alive as water splashed out onto the table after an ocean wave crashed against a line of jagged boulders. "No way," she said as she quickly reached for the front cover and slammed the book shut. Pushing the book back away from her, she dabbed the tip of her finger in a small puddle on the table and tasted it. She was surprised to learn that it tasted just like salt water. "What are you doing?" Kyle asked. "Huh?" Tina jumped with her index finger still stuck in her mouth. "What's wrong with you?" Kyle asked as he scrunched his nose. "You look like you got caught with your hand in the cookie jar or something." Tina starred down at the book, unable to speak and pointed toward it, shaking her finger as if to say, Open it, if you dare. Sometimes, one's imagination has to be opened to all forms of possibilities, to new adventures and discoveries, and realms outside of our own world. The unique library Devon and his friends stumbled into offered such a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Earl Dubois dies from a prolonged illness, leaving his wife, Grace, and daughter, Becky, to tend to their newly-acquired Plantation, The Pearly Gate. The still of the night is disrupted by a crack of a whip. Becky's cry for help and a mother's prayers reach the ears of God. Only more heartache ensues as the plantation overseer, Ole Cole, releases his bitterness and anger upon Becky's beloved horse, Crimson. God sends in Becky's guardian angel, Joyet, to help bring broken lives together and to mend old wounds. The well-bred Grace pursues her husband's dream of having the finest plantation in the south. Her strong beliefs in God and that all men are created equal brings much opposition among the esteemed plantation owners, even from the dark-skinned people in her charge. This only fuels Cole's anger and Crimson feels the bite of the whip on her back. The Promised Land is one of many books in the Angel Series. The children's books are wholesome reading, while bringing in adventure and mystery, with a message of encouragement. The children's imagination is open to the realm of God, His heart, and God's angels who assist Him into bringing peace and rest into each circumstance.
An enjoyable but fresh and unexpected look at the Kingdom of God after Sarroe, a rambunctious and playful cherub, tumbles accidently to Earth and is discovered in the woods by Shelby and her brother Tim, who take it upon themselves to tend to his needs. Hidden in her closet, to Shelby's surprise, Sarroe opens up a gateway that leads to more than angels on clouds strumming harps.
