While the word "stress" has many different meanings, as discussed in this publication it refers to the health condition which is all but endemic in modern society. The human body, mind and all its sub-systems developed to deal with the challenges of much more primitive circumstances than we live in now. Our rapid-response "fight or flight" response system enabled our species to outperform and out-think our way past all others. Collectively our incredible brains have allowed us to live today in a manner that does not require us to engage in the type of activities that made our stress hormones a major asset. Unfortunately, our physiology has not kept pace with our intellectual development and there is no magic switch to turn off or at least turn down our survival responses. Today, in civilized societies, we encounter a different manner of struggles and challenges. Even though these situations may not actually be life or death in nature, because of the emotion we attach to our various actions, our minds perceive them as such, and react accordingly. For many or most people, their bodies and mind are in a constant state of heightened anxiety due to the continually elevated levels of stress hormones in their system. This is chronic stress and its symptoms are broad, varied and can ultimately even be fatal. We are taught so many things that enable us to live in a social environment with our fellow humans, but too many of us lack knowledge of how to deal with the pressure and stress this can apply. Inability to deal with the causes of stress leads to increased stress and inability to deal with the symptoms of stress can make life seem not worth living. This publication details some of the signs and symptoms of chronic stress and their damaging effects on our minds and bodies. If you feel stress is negatively impacting your life, make changes. Reduce the causes, or learn to cope with them more appropriately to lessen the impact on you.
The way the human body processes food has not changed for thousands of years, however, our predominant food supply has. With the advent of modern agricultural and food processing methods, we have seen a lock-and-step increase in heart disease, cancer and other dangerous and deadly conditions. That is because modern-day food is unfortunately highly processed. Salt and refined sugar, monosodium glutamate (MSG) and trans fats, preservatives, steroids and man-made chemicals are intentionally injected into most of the food you eat. This is not done to make you healthier. It is simply done to make the food longer on store shelves, taste better, and to produce as addictive a product as possible (so that you will buy more of it). Fresh vegetables and fruits (not fried or slathered in unhealthy dressing) have naturally healthy levels of the nutrients, minerals and vitamins your body needs. They do not contain the processed sugar, insanely high levels of salt, steroids, preservatives and other nutritionally bankrupt chemicals found in processed food. Unfortunately, the fruits and vegetables that human beings once used to eat in abundance are now lacking in most diets. Your body still craves the same nutrition requirements it did when your ancestors were eating healthy foods. However, if you continue to reward your hunger with too much unhealthy processed food, and not enough healthy fruits and vegetables, poor health and debilitating medical conditions will be your reward. The fact that you are a product of nature, and fruits and vegetables are natural food sources, reveals why they are so important as a part of your healthy diet plan. Another important aspect of swapping out processed foods for vegetables and fruits has to do with how much you weigh. If you find it hard to lose weight and maintain a slim, trim, sexy figure, your diet is probably to blame. In this book, we explore the fruits and vegetables you should be eating, how much of each you should be eating each day and share some tips on how to increase your fruit and vegetable consumption. Change your diet today and enjoy good health tomorrow and beyond!
Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is a remedial product that punches far above its weight in terms of efficacy versus cost and availability. It is readily available, cheaply, even at the supermarket. For human health, dosages are small - for most ailments a few teaspoons a day. Before the advent of modern pharmacy, ACV was a health tonic and remedy in many households. Big pharma doesn't like it. A great many use it as a morning tonic, to prevent the onset of many ailments and their symptoms. This eBook explains what is known about how it works and what type of ACV you need to make sure it does. There are chapters on specific conditions and how apple cider vinegar can help control the condition and alleviate the symptoms. Many minor illnesses and ailments are thought of to be "conditions" rather than diseases. Some are even diagnosed that way by healthcare professionals. While most conditions are not fatal or even dangerous, some of them, however, can be indicators of something more serious. And some that are minor today, can develop in severity if left untreated. At the very least, most of the conditions or health problems in this book range from embarrassing, uncomfortable, distressful or even painful. And while they make life harder and less enjoyable than it would be without any of the conditions in this book, people suffer with them and are reluctant to seek treatment either because of their personal nature or because they don't consider them serious enough. So they put up with the symptoms, which may be continual, or may be recurring or spasmodic. In this book, I discuss ten health problems that affect the most people. Each problem starts with a very brief overview of the condition and its causes, and then continues with a focus on proven effective easily procured and prepared natural treatments that you can do at home.If you have one or more of the ten listed health conditions, not only will this information save you time and money by avoiding a trip to the doctor, but it can provide relief from the conditions symptoms. You probably know your diet and exercise habits influence your health, but ...... ignore this equally important influencer of health and all the dieting and exercising in the world won't matter.Do you exercise and stay active? Do you watch what you eat, eating healthier foods and avoiding those that aren't so good for you? A lot of people do. We are more aware now of dietary and exercise habits which lead to good health than ever before. If that's true, and it is, then why is the human race fatter, sicker and unhealthier than ever before? If we know so much more now about what causes excellent health and wellness than we have in the past, why are the following health problems commonplace?Heart disease, heart attack, strokeHigh blood pressureHigh cholesterolOverweight and obesityDiabetesMultiple cancersAlzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, dementiaChronic fatigueHigh levels of anxiety, stress and depressionHeart disease, type II diabetes, overweight and obesity are at an epidemic levels. This is happening at the same time that we're aware of exactly how to create the best health and wellness. That doesn't make much sense, does it? In many cases, the problem is that people know "just enough" to get healthier, but they ignore one of the most influential factors of health ... ... sleep habits. It's true. You can exercise until you're blue in the face. You can attack your diet and eat the healthiest foods on the planet. Do both of those things and your health is going to improve, surely. If you don't add healthy sleep habits to the equation, you're not going to be as healthy as you can be. A healthy lifestyle blueprint is like a three-legged stool. If any of its legs are missing, the stool collapses.
In my book Muscle Building for Men - An Introductory Guide to Building Muscle Mass, I reveal a successful method of building muscle. Your best bet is to formulate an all-over workout routine that helps you do three things: - Burn fat - Build muscle mass - Strengthen your muscle Burn Fat Burning off fat is really a quite simple process. All you have to do is burn mor3e calories than you take in. In fact you have to burn 3,500 more calories per week than you take in to lose one pound of weight. One of the best ways to burn fat is through cardio-type exercises, such as running, biking or playing any sport that keeps you moving all the time and gets both your heart rate and breathing up into the fat burning zones - a target rate that is 80% of 220 minus your age. Build Muscle Mass While cardio burns off excess calories and the fat and weight associated with it, the only way to build muscle is through weight or strength training. Working with light weights but numerous repetitions will tone and tighten muscles for a well-defined look, but if you want to actually build muscle mass, you have to lift heavier weights, but fewer repetitions. Strengthen your Muscle While getting leaner by burning off fat and building muscle mass are two ways to help strengthen your muscles, what we are talking about here is healthy eating. Without a proper diet, the other two will be harder to achieve. Part of losing weight and getting stronger is not only burning more calories, but taking in less calories to begin with. What many people new to muscle building don't understand is that you actually are going to eat more food, but consume fewer calories. The key is to eat the right kinds of food; foods that will fuel your fat loss, build muscle and overall strengthen your muscles.

High blood pressure is often considered a silent or invisible condition because its symptoms are very mild. But don't let this fool you.Even though it may feel like you don't have a problem due to this 'lack' of symptoms, this doesn't mean it can't cause serious damage to your health. On the contrary, the damage can be quite extensive, especially if you don't recognize that you have high blood pressure in a timely fashion.Learning the most common symptoms of high blood pressure can help you identify them more easily when they do make themselves known, which means you can start treatment as early as possible.High blood pressure is also called hypertension. It's a condition that typically results in damaged or blocked arteries, which reduces how efficiently blood circulates through your body. With elevated blood pressure, more wear and tear are placed on your arteries and heart.High blood pressure can be dangerous because it restricts blood and oxygen supply to different parts of your body. This taxes your body and may lead to organ failure if it's not appropriately managed, though most cases of hypertension don't progress this far if treated and managed appropriately. With the information in this book, you will learn how to treat and manage high blood pressure called hypertension, thus adding not only years to your life, but improving the quality of life too!

You may have noticed that some people in your neighborhood, who are in their 60s, have trouble walking and getting around. Yet, if you look at Sylvester Stallone, he is still muscular and in excellent shape. He is still directing and getting physical in his action movies. Stallone is in his sixties. What about Arnold Schwarzenegger? His arms and muscles are bigger than those of men half his age. He doesn't seem to lack coordination or balance. The dancer, Michael Flatley, is 57 and still dancing. The former model, Christie Brinkley, is sixty and she is as elegant and fit as ever. What is the underlying reason here? Why these people are healthy and well-coordinated while you or others you may know are sickly, unfit or unable to move without assistance? The answer is - the life choices we made. Many people sacrifice their health in pursuit of their career. They are so busy making a living that they neglect to make a life. The excuse that they do not have time to exercise is tossed about so frequently that they end up letting their health and fitness slide. If you are not regularly active, you will have muscular atrophy over time. Your flexibility will decrease. Your core strength will diminish. As time progresses, you will be less limber and more rigid. This is exactly how people age poorly. It's a process that has snowballed over time. Only with regular exercise and a healthy diet can you have a body that is fit and has the ability to almost reverse aging. If you have neglected your health for years and life seems to be a chore now because you can't get around without assistance, do not feel dejected. You can remedy the situation. You can restore the strength, balance and stamina that you have lost. It is never too late to become what you might have been. Your body will help you, if you help it. This guide will show you exactly what you need to do to restore your balance, strengthen your core and give you the ability to live life to its fullest. Read how ...

A person who is under excessive stress is often described as someone who is always working "under the gun". This expression should be a fair indicator that too much exposure to stress is a big threat to a person's health and well-being. Repeated studies expose the correlation between stress and ill-health, and why chronic stress is such an important health problem. Cortisol is a type of glucocorticoid hormone. Along with adrenaline, it is one of the main hormones responsible for stress responses. The actions of cortisol in the human body are quite complex. As a primary stress hormone it not only acts directly on the body, but also acts indirectly by activating other hormones, each with a critical role to perform. In a healthy person with a healthy cycle consisting of a stress incident followed by an adequate rest and recovery phase, cortisol has a major function of instigating homeostasis, or returning the body to normal after being exposed to stress. This is enacted largely through the triggering of secondary hormones. The recovery phase following an acute stress incident is critical for the prevention of developing chronic stress. Chronic stress develops when persistent stress causes stress hormones, including cortisol, to remain constantly elevated in the body. In this all too common situation, cortisol remains awash in the body at high levels for long periods of time. Unfortunately in today's world, this is happening a lot. In my book, I look not only look at ways to reduce stress, but also some things you can do to better cope with stress.
If there is one ability you could learn that would make every single aspect of your life better, what would it be? Undoubtedly, it would be the ability to control your emotions and the way you think. This might sound like a surprising claim, but the ability to control your emotions and the way you respond to a situation is not only the secret to happiness, but the secret to being able to get whatever you want from life. Why? Because it's our interpretation of events more than the events themselves that dictate our happiness, mood and performance. Not only that but our emotions, and the neurotransmitters that control them, are what alter our ability to focus, to remember information and to be creative. When traveling, it is impossible to remember everything you saw and did. However by writing your experiences in a travel journal, you have an organized record of where you went, what you did, things you ate, the weather, places of interest you saw, etc. You can even use it to record information about the photos you took. This information is invaluable if you ever decide to come back to these places again. You'll have a handy reference from your first trip there. Use this journal for a few big trips or dozens of short vacations. You'll have all the room you need. A common complaint with small journals is they are hard to write in. Not with this one! This large 8"x11" 90-page travel journal is best for people who want more room to write more about their trip. Keep your travel memories alive by recording them in your very own travel journal!

Everyone is always talking about time management. There just aren't enough hours in the day for many of us and so the belief goes that if we could squeeze a little more productivity out of our time, we'd be able to accomplish our dreams, earn more money, stay more organized and enjoy more time off. It all sounds great, except for one thing: the entire endeavor is completely misguided. Sounds harsh but in fact it's also completely true. Your problem is not with time. You have plenty of time. If you didn't have plenty of time, you probably wouldn't have been able to watch that entire boxset of Criminal Minds Season 10 would you? And you likely wouldn't have spent so long on YouTube... The problem isn't time - it's energy. Your energy, just like your time, is finite. Only it actually exists in somewhat smaller quantities meaning that it's all too easy to run out and end up completely exhausted. And that's when we start to use our time poorly and not get much done. Think about it: imagine if you could jump out of bed feeling energetic first thing in the morning. What would you do with that extra hour of productivity? Hit the gym maybe? Make some calls? Do last night's washing up so that you could live in a house that wouldn't always be untidy? Remember when you were a little kid and you could just run around all day without ever seeming to get tired? Wouldn't it be incredible if you could get that back? That's what we'll be looking at in this book... - How to assess your own energy levels - How mitochondrial function contributes to your energy levels and how to get back the mitochondrial function you had in your youth - How to use supplements to give yourself a 'competitive edge' when it comes to energy - How to choose superfoods that supercharge your energy - How to avoid foods that drain your energy and slow your body down - What type of training you can use to increase your energy - The role of stress in energy management - The secrets to a perfect night's sleep and how this leads to enhanced energy - How habits and morning schedule contribute to your energy - How more energy makes you perform better - and even be smarter! - And much more!
The stress response occurs when external or internal factors cause the body's adrenal glands to put out excess epinephrine, norepinephrine, and cortisol. These response hormones can result in an increased heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and blood glucose levels. A stressor can be anything from having a bad day at the office, relationship issues, physical or emotional distress, financial problems, and a whole host of other things that infiltrate our daily lives, resulting in a stress response. While stress is normal, too much of it, or too often, can lead to negative effects on your health. In this book we discuss how to recognize stress and how to minimize its effects to keep you from getting old before your time.
Exercise is important during every stage of your life, but even more so as you approach your senior years. That's because exercise can potentially reduce your risk of developing chronic health conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. When you do an aerobic activity like running, biking, or swimming, you're forcing your heart to work harder to keep up with your movement. In the process, you're also helping to lower your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and heart rate.Exercise also plays a pivotal role in mood. When you exercise, your body releases more endorphins, also known as one of the "feel-good" hormones. Endorphins can substantially improve your mood and even reduce pain, often compared to the effects of heavy-duty painkillers.Even though exercise takes a lot out of you in terms of energy, exercise also has great potential to boost your energy levels in the long-term. That's a direct result of the newly released endorphins and a better ability to get quality sleep at night.Perhaps the most noticeable benefits of exercise during your senior years are the improvements in strength, balance, and mobility. You can achieve this through strength and aerobic training and it greatly reduces your risk of falls, osteoporosis, and arthritis. But exercising also goes further than what was mentioned above - it can lower your risks for falls. By increasing your strength, you can lift your feet higher which can prevent you from catching your toe on the edge of a step, for example, and tripping (and risk breaking a bone).Plus, my book also discusses things you can do around your house to lessen your chances of falling.Measures taken to prevent falls is very important as we age. After all, falling is the number one reason why seniors break bones - especially hips. When that happens, many of them do not fully recover and end up losing their independence by living in an assisted-living facility or nursing home because they can no longer take care of themselves If you have an aging family member (or are one yourself), you owe it to them (or yourself) to get this book. The information can not only slowing down the aging process, but also preserve a better quality of life.
To be truly successful, you first need to decide what it is you want to achieve. That is to say you can't very well get what you want in life until you have actually decided what precisely it is that you do want. In our case, and the reason for this book, the immediate "want" is to lose weight as part of a larger goal to achieve a healthy lifestyle. After the holidays, losing weight is a common goal of many that make it their New Year's resolution. But like most resolutions of the new year, after about three months it is business as usual and back to the old ways. Have you ever thought about why that is? In many cases your goal was not realistic or achievable. Or you did achieve your goal, but in the end it was not what you thought you really wanted. That may sound confusing right now but it will become crystal clear in my book. For an example, let's use a goal of "Losing 30 pounds in the next two months." Is it realistic and achievable? If you break it down, it comes out to 3.75 pounds per week. While you might be able to lose that much each week for the first few weeks, it is not sustainable therefore not achievable nor realistic. And was that what you "really" wanted? Let's look at how to write goals that set you up for success instead of failure. This is where goal setting comes in. In order to have a shot at living your life to the very fullest and achieving your full potential (a healthy lifestyle), you need to have a defined goal and you need to know what precisely it is that you want to accomplish. Easy enough right? Wrong! Actually, there is an art to writing goals. There is a very definitive 'right way' and 'wrong way' to write a goal. And if you go about your goal setting in the wrong way, which is the way most people do it, then you can actually reduce your chances of accomplishing those goals. That's right: a bad goal will actively hinder your chances at success, just as our 30 pounds in two months example. Conversely, if you write your goal in the correct way, then it can completely transform the likelihood of your being successful and can help you carry out all of the necessary steps to execute your plan. How do you go about getting a goal right? This comes down not only to the methodology and phrasing but also the content. Because there's another scenario that can happen if you write your goals in the wrong manner: you can end up achieving those goals and then not actually be happy with what you've accomplished. In this book, we'll take a look at how you can go about writing the right goals and then seeing them through... - How to know your life's purpose - How to write your 'mission statement' - How having a the correct goal and purpose changes everything and makes you more driven and more passionate - How to phrase goals to give yourself the best possible chance of completing them - How to maintain motivation and stick at your goals even when the going gets tough (and it will) - How to create an action plan that fits with your lifestyle and routine - The power of visualization and how it helps you accomplish what you want - How to maximize your chances of achieving what you really want - What to do once you have successfully established your goals By the end of this book, you'll have a tool set that will enable you to easily look at your life, reflect on what you might want to change and then carry out the necessary steps to make that happen. You'll be able to become exactly who you want to be and create precisely the lifestyle you want to lead. And when you've done all that, life will suddenly start to make a lot more sense.
