It details the experiences of a troubled man who, although nurtured by loving parents, found it difficult to form and maintain friendships. Then he met a woman with a quiet, gentle spirit. They developed a lasting bond while he continued a journey of discovery on a mysterious path.

A perplexing murder thrusts several people in to a dangerous race to uncover political corruption. When a corrupt Australian politician running for reelection learns a hidden videotape has recorded his conversations, it leads to murder and a forced departure on a high seas motor yacht. Adding to the intrigue, the yachtsman reads a letter his wife has saved concerning her infidelity. The letter does little to ease his burgeoning feelings for a woman he meets on Boigu Island and takes with him to Bali.

Eine der zentralen Thesen dieses Buches ist, dass Soziale Arbeit jenseits aller Konstruktionen eines Doppelten Mandates letztlich nur ein Mandat hat. Dieses besteht darin, Menschen bei der Aktivierung ihrer Kräfte zu unterstützen, um sich in ihrer Umwelt einzurichten, ihren Verpflichtungen nachzukommen, sich in ihren Wünschen zu verwirklichen und dabei Sinn, Identität, Würde und Wohlbefinden zu erfahren. Dabei nimmt der Autor konsequent die Perspektive einer befreienden Sozialarbeit ein.
