In the eighth installment of the Prophet series, a simple burglary of the Praetzel's RV results in another cascade of events that bring Aleta and Stanley face to face with peril once again. For Aleta, the greatest danger is in her own mind, while Stanley must manage threats knocking at the very doorstep. Can the Praetzels manage to thwart another conspiring enemy? The odds seem to be against them, and even the help of their faithful companions might not be enough to protect the family from harm.
The discovery of a fifth locket with only four known siblings in a custody battle opens the way to a new mystery and a new threat for Aleta, who is still in the throes of her latest ordeal. What happened to the fifth child? And why did the father, Kurt Van Horne, spur such fear in his eldest son, Tyler Roach? Amidst the accusations hides a plot to bury the truth. A plot that brings an already exhausted Aleta to the breaking point. Does she have the strength to overcome so many challenges? In the seventh book of the continuing series that began with Susan Davis Sandberg's "The Reluctant Prophet", Aleta struggles to reconcile her place in the world.
In the sixth book of the Prophet series, Aleta Praetzel's new law practice is inundated with people begging for her help. A child's simple drawing begins a hurried game of cat and mouse. With hardly a moment to recover from giving birth to her son, Aleta must confront a new evil grappling the life of a four-year-old girl. While her husband, Stanley, and she do their best to hide the child and her mother from an insensitive bureaucracy, unseen forces go to work to bury the dark secret that brought the Lithuanian family to America. Too much was happening in Aleta's life for her to hear the subtle prophesy that could save her, yet she was too stubborn to admit her limitations. She wanted a normal life, and acted upon that craving without realizing how she jeopardized her own life and the lives of others.
Aleta faced the toughest choices of her life. In the follow up of The Bewildered Prophet, a young law student, newly married and six months pregnant with her first child, must make a decision between her future family and her future profession. A candidate for the House, Eugene Powell, was willing to go to any measure to stop her from becoming an attorney. She was the epitome of all he hated and a political threat as well. Aleta was used to facing such enemies, but this time a new enemy surfaced. Someone close to her had betrayed her, and now she had to battle a new enemy who was lurking in the shadows. Ultimately, it would come down to the toughest decision of her life; she could not predict her way out of making a personal sacrifice.
In the third book of the series, the drama continues for the family and friends of Aleta Praetzel in the otherwise sleepy Tri City area. Still recovering from the wounds of her previous adventure, Aleta predicts another murder. She had been right before; however, a minor stroke may have damaged her prophetic abilities, and could potentially be a symptom of much worse. Stanley, who was still untrusting of her gift, hardly thought that an old man in a retirement home speaking gibberish was in danger of being kidnapped or murdered by mold. The tenacious Aleta senses that the word is only the tip of the iceberg. Yet, unable to feed herself, hold a book or pick up a phone, how can she help a man in danger? What can she to do, especially when he refuses to point a finger at the person who wants him dead? She needs to do something. The escalation has begun. The old man's enemies turn their attention to eliminating Aleta. But she isn't the only one. Lives hang in the balance.
Aleta Praetzel wanted a normal holiday with her family, but her latest prophecy would not allow her that luxury. The morning of Christmas Eve, a vision of ten murders that would take place that night prompted a daunting struggle to save whom she could before time ran out. But where could she start? No apparent connection existed between the victims, all gunned down by a sniper. Or was it snipers? Aleta was not sure. Only if her fellow prophets worked together to solve the challenges that await them could tragedy be averted, yet the oddest obstacle stood in their way. Was the life of a horse so important as to risk the lives of so many, drive some to flee, and leave others dead?
