A photo story and a tribute to our parents, George and Catherine Lapointe. Our mother emigrated from England to Toronto, Canada. She arrived at the train station in MacDowall, Saskatchewan, and finally, Catherine was reunited with the man she had met on a blind date while he was stationed in England during World War II. They wrote to each other for six years. Patricia Catherine Gordon Roberts accepted George Alfred Lapointe's marriage proposal and together they raised five children on the prairies from the 1950s to the late 1970s.

The Christmas season arrived as usual at the T. Eaton's Company in Saskatoon. During this time of the year, the wizard's spirit began to fill with goodwill towards his fellow man. Each year he looked forward to decorating the display windows. He created magical scenes since he loved to make children smile. Children and adults alike would eagerly press their noses against the frosted glass windows' panes to see inside the store. The wizard moved the wooden storage crates into the display windows. His blue eyes twinkled when he saw the plaster of Paris mechanical figurines. He tinkered with the archaic electrical cords, small rides and assembled the Winterkins Ferris wheel. When he turned on the switch, it came to life, with bright twinkling lights casting a hazy glow over the snow.The Winterkins began to whirl and twirl in their rides over the Winter Wonderland. He imagined the Winterkins yelling with delight when the Ferris wheel began to turn. He added the final touches to the display by blowing glittery snowflakes over the wintery scene. Then he placed each of the little ones on skates so they could enjoy a day of winter fun, gliding across the silver, make-believe pond. John and Susan Ewert worked at Eaton's Department during the 1980s. Christmas was a magical time for both of them. After, John passed away in 2007. Susan decided to write fairy tales about their life together. She captures the magic of working at Eaton's during Christmas time in this short illustrated tale. Also, the book contains eighteen photos of the display and the story about "Once Upon a Christmas". The display can be seen during Christmastime at the Western Development Museum in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

This is a delightful story about a little girl named, Lilly. This fictional story that takes place in Hawarden, Saskatchewan. Lilly loves to visit her grandmother's farm during the summer holidays. Grandma does not have a traditional farm with wheat and canola crops. Lilly's grandmother loves raising Monarch butterflies, sunflowers, and milkweed gardens! Lilly and her grandmother spend the summer holidays together, and share the beautiful experience of releasing the full-grown Monarch butterflies so they can migrate.

"Gabby was a tree that grew and grew; she had started as a little tiny seed in the soil. Soon she rose out of the earth and reached for the sun. The rain nurtured her as well. One day, she sprung from the earth as a tiny seedling, and she began growing and reaching toward the sky. Many years passed by, and not many people noticed her when she was just a little sapling that was reaching for the sky. One day Gabby became a full-grown tree with branches, leaves and then blossoms. She became a majestic tree and everyone who passed by admired the tree."

Despite the darkness; a kind Elf king lives deep within the village with his beautiful queen, Prisca, daughter, Elise, and talented Elves. King Eilfyw loves his family and the Solstice season with all of his heart. However, the witches are at war with the King of Elves who handcrafts gifts for children and sends joy to others during the Winter Solstice season. King Eilfyw is about to experience a Christmas miracle when he receives a letter, just before the Winter Solstice begins. A pure white ptarmigan delivers a handwritten scroll. When the King reads the manuscript; he finds out that a new King will be born soon and the child will be the King of Kings! Also, he will be born in a manger in the city of Bethlehem. His parents, Mary and Joseph, will name their baby, Jesus. King Eilfyw, along with his talented Elves, craft a special gift for the babies arrival. Will the King arrive in time for the child's birth since he is challenged with trying to outsmart Queen Herodias, the ruler of the witches. The King is relying on his talented Elves to build him a super-sleigh so that he can outrun the wicked queen. A magical fictional tale about the first Christmas.

A short Saskatchewan Christmas story that takes place at the St. Elizabeth Community Park at Humboldt, Saskatchewan. Santa Claus is trying to cheer up the seniors living in an Independent Living unit since they miss their families and grandchildren due to the COVID-19 virus. Mrs. Claus is busy making masks for Santa, and the Elves are making gallons of hand sanitizer. Mrs. Claus encourages Santa to visit Jupiter and Saturn since the planets will align on December 21, 2020. When the planets line up, it will cause a celestial event to happen! She believes that Santa needs some time for himself and to renew his belief about Christmas magic! Meanwhile, the Seniors who live at the complex have decided to keep busy by assembling a telescope to see the planets line up! Santa surprises the seniors with a visit on December 21, 2020! The park becomes a magical place when the planets align, and Santa Claus pours stardust onto the snowmen! The seniors are delighted with the Christmas miracle!

This is a fictional tale that takes place in the village of Annaheim, Saskatchewan. A Jackrabbit named, Mr. William Rabbit decides to move his family to a barn in the middle of the winter when a fox starts to give his family trouble. The rabbit family bravely sets out on a new adventure across the frozen meadow. The rabbit family is taken in by an old shaggy dog named, Rex. and a hen called Mrs. Gray Legs. Then an exciting new adventure begins for the rabbit family while they live in the red barn!
