This volume is a lengthy compilation of lore related to fortunes and fortune telling, derived from multiple systems such as astrology, tea leaf reading, dream interpretation, oracle casting, and more. The texts consulted span several centuries, and the topic is all the more complex and fascinating because of the lengthy tradition of such works borrowing heavily from one another. With an explanatory preface and a brief suggested reading list for the fan of such things, this work aims to be the most complete modern collection of the divination works of yesterday. The systems employed herein to predict the future and prognosticate the person are just as able to be used today as they were when first written.

  • - During the Early Roman Empire

"Pagan Ideas of Immortality" is an interesting look at the evolution of philosophical thought through the age of antiquity into the early christian era through the various mystery sects, cults, and philosophical schools of the time. Speaking of the Stoics, Skeptics, Platonists and more, of Mithra, Osiris, and various tales of the underworld and afterlife, this text is an invaluable occult and academic reference, delivered in the form of a lecture.

  • - Mind Altering Species in the Backyard

"Spirits of the Garden" is a cursory overview to multiple psychotropics which are commonly grown or which exist in the wild in many climates of the world. Combining the occult with the biological, the work seeks, in brief, to disclose the nature of some of these species. Speaking of plants such as morning glory and san pedro cacti, and fungi such as amanita muscaria (the fly agaric) it provides a shorter expose paired with the longer "Fruits of Eden; Herbalism and the Occult."

"Occult Japan" is a wonderful collection of lore compiled from the Shinto path, dating to an important era in which the nation of Japan was rapidly changing; the Meiji period which had begun several decades before was erasing traditional technology even as it changed cultural and behavioral norms- this work then is both about the traditional spiritual system and the effects of then-modern reform on the same. It is as much a work about culture in the secular as the religious sense. It ought to be noted that some trappings of ethnocentrism were applied in the study here.

  • - Faust, Parsifal, the Ring of the Niebelung, Tannhauser, Lohengrin

Max Heindel's "Mysteries of the Great Operas" is a significant piece of Rosicrucian literature aimed at analyzing multiple opera works from an occult perspective; with all subjected operas deeply spiritual in form (for Faust especially, strictly so in the symbolic sense, ) the analysis delves often into the romantic, and sometimes into the scientific, with the interpretation of the underlying symbolism being, at times, specifically erotic in nature. Thus we have, in multiple forms, some similarity- such as the tale of the inner spiritual struggle against materialism, the ascendant nature of spiritual man, and the spiritual process, at large, with Faust, Tannhauser, and other characters central.

  • - Its Story and Significance
    af Tarl Warwick
    78,95 kr.

This present work is a decidedly academic look at the progression of religious stages as conceived of in the early 20th century, towards the orthodox approach of monotheism, and thereafter more debated pantheistic approach to spirituality. Pantheism, being the concept (in the broad sense) of an interpenetrating whole existence, as we may deem it, as a replacement for the personal, or at least quasi-separate deity of the main-line Christians and other groups (henotheists, polytheists, etc.) Spinoza especially here is discussed at great length, comprising about a third of the text.

  • - If the Devil Should Die Would God Make Another?
    af Tarl Warwick
    78,95 kr.

This relatively short booklet is on the dual topic of Satan and Hell. In refutation of the religiosity which marked the 19th century, Ingersoll argues against a Devil's existence on a twofold platform; first logical and second emotional. The first, which occupies the bulk of the work, ruminates primarily on inconsistencies within the Bible. As one of the major orators and philosophical minds of his day, Ingersoll here lays out his case for the superiority of there being no spiritual world at all, as opposed to the one professed by the specifically orthodox and very religious.

This work by Reuben Swinburne Clymer proposes that mortality is neither necessary nor spiritually proper, and that a coming era of human wisdom will eventually defeat the very idea of dying through proper rigor, nutrition, lifestyle, and spiritual teachings. In an interesting twist, while Clymer was not an advocate of then-burgeoning medical science (and outright opposed vaccination) the prescribed dietary lifestyle for consumption patients is not only sensible but probably would have saved countless lives had it been generally adopted. The work alludes frequently to the Illuminati and Clymer proposes specific membership in the order and its teachings.

  • - A Collection

This book is primarily meant for those whose interest in alchemy is historical, containing fourteen full length texts on alchemy, mostly from the 17th and 18th centuries, along with an appendix containing bits of other works of note, and an expansive preface on the subject matter. Ending with a short bibliography of more modern works for further academic reading, it includes such notable manuscripts as "Aula Lucis" and Hollandus' "A Work of Saturn."The compilation here was carefully chosen to include both highly symbolic works full of metaphors as well as works which are far more literal and easily understood, as the tradition of alchemy is manifold and hardly monolithic in form- for alchemy is both pseudoscience and science, and both spiritual and mundane. It is superstition and it is the very seed of modern science.

  • - A Story of Judaism
    af Tarl Warwick
    78,95 kr.

This little work was released over a century ago in order to teach a largely untrained audience the basic form of the Judaists' Talmud, and some statements regarding its nature and secondary opinions thereof. Admonishing the reader that the interpretations and opinions of Rabbis abound and that the work itself is extremely difficult to comprehend fully, it speaks of various figures both within and without Judaism and their statements regarding the Talmud, historically.Dense but compact enough to understand, it is a fairly decent primer to the spiritual system of Judaism, albeit one which partially omits the more mystical context thereupon.

  • - Or: Daemons and Guardian Angels
    af Tarl Warwick

Joseph Berg was one of the more notable clergymen of his era in the Reformed movement. This is one of the more interesting of his prolific literary works; a series of entries detailing the nature of the angelic and demonic, a bit about Satan, and mortality, all fleshed out with verses from the Christian bible. For its treatment of the nature of the Devil it is of interest even to those (namely occultists) who may not fully agree with its moral summations.

  • - Verified and Analyzed
    af Tarl Warwick
    83,95 kr.

"Demonism, Verified and Analyzed" is more than just a standard work covering demons and demonic possession. Past the demonology of prior eras, it wraps spiritual influence up with the psychic and mental, and proposes not just that prayer is an aid to the same, but why, according to the author, it is so. As a strictly protestant work, it delves heavily into specific anecdotes of possession and sickness in China, India, and other areas while proposing a literal Satan, literal host of demons, and literal harm from demonism.

  • - An American Grimoire
    af Tarl Warwick
    78,95 kr.

John George Hohman's "Pow Wows", originally subtitled "Long Lost Friend," is partially of German origin through the Pennsylvania Dutch and very likely partly derived from the traditions of the French cycle of occultism and the Petit Albert. Covering topics from herbal medicine to prayer healing and topical defensive magick, it is a dense and well written booklet. Within its pages are instructions for destroying disease, safeguarding property, stopping thieves, preventing famine, nourishing animals, and, strangely, several recipes for totally secular things such as clothing dye and soap powder. It is an early, and possibly the earliest, American grimoire.

Animal Magnetism is now generally recognized as a fraudulent science and originates with Mesmer and some of his claims regarding healing. Its offspring, hypnotism, is still utilized to a degree today for some purposes. This collection of anecdotes regarding the effective use of magnetic healing in a therapeutic and scientific setting is quite interesting and ought to be seen as a piece of medical history, regarding one of the now-dead branches of occultism.

  • - Wisdom of the Ancients
    af Tarl Warwick
    78,95 kr.

This work is an interesting fusion of two basic types of content- first and foremost, pieces of mythology from the Greek and Roman tradition of paganism, and secondly- derived from the same- statements about those bits of lore, regarding their metaphorical and symbolic nature, and potential usefulness in imparting moral lessons. Here we have, in some degree of depth, stories as wide ranging as Prometheus and Orpheus, Bacchus and Typhon. To the practicing occultist, both the stories and the derived philosophy are of significant interest.

  • - A Collection

    133,95 kr.

This book is a collection of considerable occult miscellany ranging from weird legends involving animals and plants, to the construction and use of magical talismans, black magic involving the summoning of demons, and lore and folk rites revolving around gaining luck, predicting the future, or simple trickery and hexes. It is an exhaustive compilation of such arcana and includes passages from dozens of different books spanning many centuries. These works are sometimes academic, sometimes flat-out literal, sometimes bizarre, and always interesting. A list of works for further reading and an explanatory preface have been included.

  • - The Red Dragon
    af Tarl Warwick
    88,95 kr.

The Red Dragon has been variously treated as a grimoire, a piece of folk literature, and a joke manuscript; it comprises one part of what is loosely termed "The Grand Grimoire"- a collection of magickal works from the Renaissance such as the Black Pullet and Lesser Keys of Solomon. The Red Dragon however bears the title "Grand Grimoire" on its own. Multiple editions of it exist, some with material tacked on. It takes the form of a long ritualistic ceremony designed to secure communication with a demon known as "Lucifuge Rofocale" followed by various invocations and incantations and spells. The contents are heretical in the extreme, from rituals involving boiling a black cat to the use of toxic substances in ritual form. Small wonder, that this text has gained so much notoreity.

  • - Of King James I
    af Tarl Warwick
    88,95 kr.

The Demonology of King James I forms one of the most intriguing and well made texts of the burning times. Crafted at the end of the 16th century, it details the nature of sorcery, witches, Satan, fairies, and hauntings. Simultaneously blasting witchery and Papistry, King James prescribes various witch hunting methods, classifies demons, and suggests the sole method of dealing with all forms of witches, including those practicing the healing arts; namely, death.

  • - Universal Book of Fate
    af Tarl Warwick
    67,95 kr.

The True Fortune Teller is a strange little work fairly obviously adapted from (and partly plagiarized from!) the late 18th century Fortune Teller of Mrs. Bridget. Redacting much of the prior content to introduce a new (and novel) oracle system using the picture of a tree, as well as prognostication by nail shape and color, it is as good as any contemporary fortune telling work, and is presumably dated to around the early 19th century- perhaps the 1830s.It is short, but relatively dense, and speaks of astrological terms and various folk divination.

  • - or Magical Elements
    af Tarl Warwick
    78,95 kr.

Within these pages are contained the work of Peter de Abano, Philosopher- not merely a grimoire, this work, along with the Red Dragon and Grimoire of Honorius, stands as a testament to Renaissance-Era high magic. The work arranges the cycle of angelic powers into hours and days, assigning various powers and meanings to the same. The nature of these angelic forces may be conflated with modern works which assign, for example, the figure of Samael to one of pure evil- some of the names given appear in no other contemporary literature. This edition has removed the old english, antiquated language of so may others, retaining it only within the invocations and prayers given, for the sake of continuity. The near-obsessive tabulation of days and hours for the sake of ritual work herein is one of its most remarkable features, combined with seasons, directions of wind, and other facets, ensuring the reader, whether antiquated or modern, will enjoy the full effects of such rites and workings.

  • - And the Great Pyramid a Temple of Initiation
    af Tarl Warwick
    78,95 kr.

This little text is a combination of two distinct essays by Swinburne Clymer; the first essay deals with the comparison of the body of a man to machinery such as the automobile, comparing the use of breathing to the intake of gas into an engine, and noting the importance of health and its ability to help mortals achieve immortality. The second refers to the Freemasons, Illuminati, etc, and explains the usage of the Great Pyramid for sacred ancient rites related to spiritual transcendence. The work is quite dense, and alludes to both antiquated and then-modern spiritual schools.

  • - A Text of Alchemy
    af Tarl Warwick
    78,95 kr.

This following text, like many within the corpus of literature on the topic of alchemy, is both veiled and complex- however, Freher's analysis of mysticism is less so than some works of the same period and type. Taking the form of a lengthy spiritual expose, his Process is couched in the biblical and claims to lay out the major tenets of the great work of alchemy.

The Heart of Things is the second of three works of Theosophy created by Edward Farnsworth over the course of two decades. The works were meant as guides for students of the occult, and as such are presented as a series of subtopics variously elaborated on.The content of this second volume of lore is largely planetary and deals with categorical systems for organisms and spirits, as well as the importance of colors, hierarchies, and some interesting philosophy of the period including some material by Blavatsky.

  • - The Grimoire of Pope Leo
    af Tarl Warwick
    98,95 kr.

The Enchiridion of Pope Leo III, also known as the Grimoire of Pope Leo, is a strange document which has appeared in multiple forms over the centuries, taking influence as it has been edited over and over from other occult traditions. In this edition, the document has been edited into modern form, the imagery significantly improved, and some material obviously not original to the Enchiridion itself has been removed as dubious. Here, it is also rendered into fully modern English. Containing predominantly a series of prayers meant to protect the user, it nonetheless also contains, strangely, a method by which the user is able to not merely contact Satan, but physically see the same and secure a pact with the Devil himself. 44 pages.

  • - Water Witching
    af Tarl Warwick
    78,95 kr.

This little booklet contains a great deal of very interesting lore on dowsing- variously an attempt to find water or minerals, using a Y-shaped or similar instrument, often of wood but also metal or bone. It contains a bit of history on the use of the same from ages then already past, especially in France. The folklore of dowsing (still in use today) is fascinating; but this work contains a good degree of secondary material on the subject which is quite in depth, while supporting dowsing's reality the entire time.

  • - An Occult Reference
    af Tarl Warwick
    78,95 kr.

"The Witches Pharmacopoeia" is one of the better academic works dealing with the use of herbs and other things within the traditional workings of witchery both real and fraudulent. Speaking of Shakespearean verse, ancient tales from pagan tradition, and the burning times, it speaks of more than just wolfsbane and nightshade. Delivered by the assistant librarian to the US Surgeon General at the time, the work sums up a tradition found through centuries of grimoires and other literature within the occult.

  • - The Origin of Religions
    af Tarl Warwick
    83,95 kr.

"Aryan Sun Myths" is an interesting academic look at a large number of different examples of pagan solar cultism and all of its symbols and celestial metaphors. For the student of the occult it is necessary to understand this, to form a solid, historical, truth-based foundation for practice or study. Dating to the golden age of spiritual history and rigor within the humanities, this work is one of the more broad, spanning Hinduism, Buddhism, Rome, Greece, and much more, with tales of Mithra, Krishna, Bacchus, and dozens of other deities.

  • - Ancient and Modern
    af Tarl Warwick
    78,95 kr.

Geo Bratley's work here compiles dozens of secondary sources into what amounts to a substantial folkloric study of the usage of physical icons in an occult context. This goes far beyond good luck charms and simplistic symbols, and discusses the phenomenon of "mascottes" in its era, the use of bones and holy relics, birth stones, flags, and much more.Well written with numerous quotes, it is one of the best works on the subject available even now more than a century after its manufacture.

The Ancient Egyptian religion is a topic of extreme interest, and has been for several centuries. While more is known of their language system now, and more ruins have been explored, the topic remains mysterious today, just as it was when this book was first written. It is most notable for its retelling of a series of Egyptian myths regarding their deities, as well as allusions to the content of the Book of the Dead, with its lengthy rituals and incantations related to the afterlife and to preparing for mortality.

  • - A Brief Treatise
    af Tarl Warwick
    78,95 kr.

This pro-spiritualist booklet was written in the mid 1800s by Allen Putnam, who here claimed to have tested various aspects of mesmerism and mediumship and concluded that the spirit world is quite real. It touches upon the tappings and moanings of spirits, and even links the Salem Witch Trials to mediumship. Putnam additionally crafted a simplistic classification system for several increasingly potent aspects of mesmerism (later conflated with hypnotism) and the powers derived from interactions with spirits.
