Right before his planned marriage proposal to Janelle, a chance meeting with the mystifying George happened, sending a hesitant Tom back to 1848 to find the real truth about Cathy's death. He contemplates whether he should stay or return to the present and recount his experience to the eagerly awaiting Janelle.
