David was forty-eight. In 2004, he was sent to Duke Medical for what was called a Hail Mary pass; stage four melanoma cancer had spread throughout his lungs, organs, lymph system and brain. He returned home sick, in pain, and unable to get up. Find out what he said, because he believed God had other plans for him.Share in his journey through some of his darkest and scariest hours, in his twenty-year struggle to regain his name and his battle with cancer. See how his faith was forged through trials and tribulations and how he was stripped of everything except God's promise. Learn how David knew that God was ready to bring his twenty-one-year-old son home. He knew God's timing is always perfect.Through his love for the Lord and others praying for him, David experienced a miracle and made medical history. Learn about his covenant with God and see how the faith of mustard seed opened doors, moved mountains, made miracles happen, and saw God's promise fulfilled. God heard their prayers. Chicano educator Edmundo López invites his readers to go back in time with him yet again, to peer through the cracked window of his family's two-room tenement apartment in South El Paso's Segundo Barrio - the Second Ward - to feel his sadness as he says goodbye to his friends, his beloved Bowie High, and his adventurous youth. His journey leads him to a very different life in California, where the lessons and gifts of his barrio back home eventually lead him toward a career in education. His colorful stories take us through his challenging, often hilarious teenage years, complete with awkward dates and devastating crushes, into Basic Training and then on to post-armistice Korea where he and his fellow prankster-soldiers forge friendships and find clever ways to combat boredom while fulfilling their commitments. López crafts his stories with care, infusing them with equal measures of love, loyalty, attitude, and humor. Even when his memories take a darker turn, recalling the deep-seated resentments and racism that he and his fellow Chicano soldiers encountered while serving their country, the author's unique style of barrio-bred, feisty defiance and determination both entertains and inspires. The Making of a Chicano Educator: From My Segundo Barrio to Korea, picks up where the author's first book, My Romance with my Segundo Barrio, leaves off.

This book contains poems written with words that everyone can understand and relate to. These writings have evolved from my fascination with words in poetry and music, especially ones that rhyme. Words have the ability to move the spirit or touch the soul. They can fill or empty the heart of all the emotions humans can experience. My efforts were to convey feelings every person has experienced in plain English. I believe that the expression of human emotion is of the utmost importance. Some of the words might bring moments of joy or wonder we all feel in our journey through life. The words in these poems might also bring another level of insight or understanding.to your life. Some of these poems may bring tears of joy or tears of sadness to your eyes. So you may need to get out your hankies. The Hidden Life I am sorry that I left you standing there, With your tears of sadness and care, Because I did not know from the very start, About the hidden life within a woman's heart. As I linger in the land of sleep before I awaken, Lost in the darkness of the night, I wonder which direction I should have taken, But I still remain unsure if I was right. "I hope you will enjoy the poems of love, hope, inspiration, sadness, and memories that are contained in this volume." "Poetry is music for the soul." The Author

Many inquisitive minds have often wondered wherefrom the concept of Sin derived. We have been raised up in a society which has insisted that we should not question "some things," yet we have persisted to ask ourselves time & again, how has such a notion of innate immorality proliferated into this vast incrimination upon our moment of birth. We have come screaming into this world whereupon a lifelong atonement has become the objective of so many, and for what? For the self-deluded sake of a mythical afterlife existence? What has happened to our lives which once upon a time abounded in deedful worthiness & promise as a bestowal to our children? Has our selfish goal become so valued that our bequeathal to posterity should become secondary? Whatever happened to our exemplary native beliefs? Without question, we and our predecessors have watched passively for millennia as this notion of Sin has spread across the globe, yet among the most pristine isolated culturo-anthropological societies, such an idea has remained non-existent. These isolated cultures have persevered uncontacted by civilized society for thousands of years. Have we among the global multiculture truly been the enlightened ones? Their pristine peoples have seemed to survive the global assault with modest contentment devoid of all the luxuries and capitalizing wealth which have literally enslaved us to our daily routines. Whose lifestyle has been the better? Us, or them? We have become so ambitious that we look to other galaxies for some degree of hope in the search of this mythical place. If indeed we have been wrong all along, what sinister intrigue has evaded our knowledge and blinded our vision? What has been the true deception which has led us astray for so long?

The four old men who make up the Old Men's Club have known one another for most of their lives. They all grew up poor, played together as pre-teens, attended the same school from seventh through twelfth grades, went their separate ways after graduating and eventually ended up back in the town where they were raised. That's when the Old Men's Club was born. They are all a little strange, somewhat forgetful and quite different from one another, but they have one thing in common. They share a secret. Whatever it is has been kept between them since childhood. What is it? Will they reveal it? It's obvious the shared secret is a strong bond that has helped hold them together as life-long friends as well as the experiences shared throughout their lives, disappointments as well as joys, and the acceptance of each other with no strings attached. All of these questions, and more, will be answered, eventually. Many humorous anecdotes are sprinkled throughout the book. Some are individual experiences while others are shared. There are recollections from childhood through high school and tales from young adults to the present. Some are happier than others.
Everything about the JFK assassination points to Lyndon Johnson. He had the most to gain, he had the ways and means to accomplish it, and he was in a position to cover it up afterwards. He also had the psychological make-up to commit such an act. Those who knew Johnson say that he would stop at nothing to achieve his ultimate goal of becoming president of the United States. Johnson has been described as power-hungry, ruthless, and manipulative. Those traits alone don't prove that he killed John Kennedy, but when looked at in the context of Johnson's life and political career, there is no reason to doubt that Johnson was at the center of the plot.
By education, Leatrice Lynne Latts is an attorney and a CPA. By experience, she is a successful business attorney advising multi-million dollar businesses and individuals. By passion, she is a teacher, writer, and coach for communication, problem-solving, and motivation. Her unique approach of combining the practical and the intuitive led her to establish See Movement in 2006. "See" stands for "Successful Energy Empowerment".Every person in some way or another has had experience with the highest form of energy. Some people refer to this highest form of energy as "God"; Leatrice calls it "Source". However, it is the same energy whatever it is called. Instead of limiting your experience with Source energy to random and sporadic events, Leatrice advocates deliberately accessing Source energy and tapping into its powerful attributes: Unconditional love, guidance from infinite intelligence, and the power that created the Universe and life force itself.See Movement has helped thousands of people access and partner with their own "Slice of Source" (see the testimonials on her website): To facilitate the creation of the life they want. To identify and release the Negative Energy Programs that are preventing them from having and living what they want. To feel good. After Leatrice was guided to write "The 'Source' of Relationships", she was guided to re-configure the messages of that Book for young people - so that they could have a leg up on living the life they want and feeling good - especially regarding their parents. Hence "The 'Source' of Relationships for Young People: How to Handle Your Parents". Her other Books, from her website and Amazon Books: "The 'Source' of Relationships: The Key to Having Relationships Exceeding Your Expectations with Lovers, Partners, Associates, Friends, and Even Enemies". "Divorce with a Pen, Not a Sword: A Business Approach to Divorce".

The astonishing history of Ayiti has been wrought with tragedy & tribulation as well as many triumphs. Notwithstanding the assertion that the Columbian Exchange & Atlantic Slave Trade were to blame for the numerous trials suffered by Haiti's people, Her truest story likely belonged to the oral traditions of the indigenous peoples previous to exploitation. However, our known history began with the records of Christopher Columbus.Upon the arrival of explorers, the island of Ayiti was struck with an unrelenting appetite for gold-seeking and egocentric religious superiority on behalf of the newcomers. Rather swiftly, the story of the native Taíno was all but erased. An innocent land once free & naïve of Western governance had soon become embroiled in a practice of human trafficking and the trade of cash crops throughout the "civilized" world. For three-hundred years, extreme disparity beset the lives of the enslaved from near & far who once lived in relative peace. In a crescendo of social & political distress, Haiti finally found Her reckoning in the 19th century with bloody rebellion. Persistent struggle followed for centuries while the inhabitants strove to establish a better quality of life for themselves in a scarcely surviving economy. Then suddenly, as if She hadn't sustained enough difficulties throughout such a turbulent past, Haiti sustained more dreadful catastrophes which claimed the lives of so many. In the wake of the 2010 earthquake and successive hurricanes, history has shed its light upon Ayiti's past once again.
