This is the third book in Margaret Bernstein's series of read-aloud stories, all of which depict a fun day spent by a father and his child. The book is a tribute to the annual Fathers Walk, also known as The Million Fathers March. It's a day when fathers walk their children into school and pledge to stay involved for the school year. Written in rhyme and filled with touching illustrations by Peyton Leatherman, "The Fathers Walk" creates a special moment when a dad reads it aloud to his child.

This book is a sequel to "My Two Families". Elizabeth questions whether to take the opportunity to meet her birth mother. She wrestles with the need to get more information about her birth mother and little brother and her desire for things to stay the same. She is happy and content with her adoptive parents, but she is very curious about her other family.

At a time when everything seems to have changed in the world, nothing seems to have changed in the way black people are seen. As we seek to have our voices heard, Black children need to understand the value beyond the criticism they face each day in America. Black children are our future, and we must plant the right seeds now for them to live fruitful lives later.
