In this book, Let's Keep On Talking, the lives and adventures of Duke and Duchess, German Shepherds, Kitty, a Calico cat, and Tiger, a Desert Lynx cat, continue at a speed their owner barely can keep up with. In the first book, "Let's Talk." we learned that these animals were able to talk telepathically with their owner. In the second book,"TaDa" Their exploits continued and even led them to meeting the President. Now, in Let's Keep On Talking, these adventures continue with rescues of piglets and their momma, who swam across the intracoastal from the DEE Dot Ranch to our house, then saving a baby dolphin down near Pine Island, and saving a horse from a brutal handler out in the western part of the county. On a quieter note, there's a visit form a saucy parrot who insists on telling you to "Take it off! Take it all off!" (obviously raised in a brothel). There's a wonderful ride in a carriage in St. Augustine during an evening of the Night of Lights: again, a gallant save from a thief by the furry ones. The trip to Camp David as guests of the President was not without incident. Through all of these you will meet more of their friends. Finally, a quiet walk on Micklers Beach in Ponte Vedra leads to saving two half-grown sea turtles, and meeting one of their human guardians. So join us and have fun!
Dr. Mary Paul is in California for a change, purchasing a vineyard and learning all about the art of wine, as well as dressage. Beautiful weather and beautiful people are on hand, and Dr. Paul is not the only one interested in the property. Unknown to Mary, the other bidder has a number of skeletons in his closet, and he's accompanied by a criminal who has been a thorn in Mary's side on more than one occasion whose unpredictable actions make him a potentially deadly wild card.
After the narrator of Let's Talk finds out she can communicate telepathically with her German Shepherds and two cats, we follow their further adventures in learning about the world around them. In Ta Da! their exploits - at home, on the water, and at the beach - have them rescuing birds, deer, and babies. They escape from gators, coyotes, and hunters with murderous intent. All these activities occur in an everyday sort of way - that is, in a way that could happen to anyone or any creature. They also make new friends and share adventures with then, from catching thieves, saving a dog from the Intracoastal, and going on their first plane ride.
From New York City to historic St. Augustine, Floirda, the hunt begins. The world-renowned Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine, Florida, plays host to both national and international celebrities. But having ten beautiful women who happen to be psychotherapists reserve the entire top floor is unique, especially since they are all psychics. The women are there to work and to play. There are, however, no plans for murder, but murder will stalk the halls of the hotel and the streets of the city, turning its gaze on the ladies when least expected.
Dr. Paul finds herself, as the new County Commissioner from District 4, overwhelmed with work, left undone by the past Commission. Two of the Commissioners take great delight in loading her up with a sign ordinance committee. A job two past Commissioners couldn't cope with, an albatross no politician wanted hung on them. She also acquired a donation of land to build Davis Park, then finds the donors now want to build an enormous development next to it, called Nocatee. With a wry sense of humor, she provides and inside view of commission maneuvers. The slipping and sliding to fulfill election promises to keep the those with deep pockets happy. One of these money people wants a landing site at his home in the western part of the county for his connivence in his travels. Two of the commissioners grease the skids for him and it shoots thru approval with ease. This landing site soon turns out to be more than a mere connivence rather a major landing site for drugs. Paul's friend Jeffery Stone gets involved in a multi-agency bust of these dealers. Paul inadvertently finds herself kidnapped by two workers of this cartel. A harrowing chase on the St. John's River in the middle of the night ensues.
