Mathematical methods in engineering are characterized by a wide range of techniques for approaching various problems. Moreover, completely different analysis techniques can be applied to the same problem, which is justified by the difference in specific applications. Therefore, the study of the analyses and solutions of specific problems leads the researcher to generate their own techniques for the analysis of similar problems continuously arising in the process of technical development. Computational Methods and Mathematical Modeling in Cyberphysics and Engineering Applications contains solutions to specific problems in current areas of computational engineering and cyberphysics.

On the world map, macro-regions or global regions have gradually emerged, with varying degrees of success and following different trajectories. The authors of this book attempt to determine whether, within the context of globalization, these macro-regions have become an additional level in the spatial deployment of numerous actors, and whether they have come to stand between the national and global levels. This book offers an overview of modern advances in Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) for the reader hoping to understand comprehensive electromagnetic culture, combining instrumental development of radar, signal processing, imaging, and calibration/correction of measured data. GPR has a multi-disciplinary character that can bring together a diverse and broad community. Of concern are the design and optimization of innovative radars, by virtue of the antennas and associated electronics, imaging algorithms, methodological diversity, calibration procedures, and the development of tools for the interpretation of data in mono-static or multi-static configurations within frequency or transient domains. This book provides illustrations in civil engineering for the diagnosis of transport infrastructures and buildings, archeological surveys for the appreciation of cultural heritage, detection of underground pipes and cavities, estimation of soil water content for agriculture, and mapping of root trees developing underground, and in planetology, the analysis of the internal structure of planets and other celestial bodies through electromagnetic waves.

Most cameras are inherently designed to mimic what is seen by the human eye: they have three channels of RGB and can achieve up to around 30 frames per second (FPS). However, some cameras are designed to capture other modalities: some may have the ability to capture spectra from near UV to near IR rather than RGB, polarimetry, different times of light travel, etc. Such modalities are as yet unknown, but they can also collect robust data of the scene they are capturing. This book will focus on the emerging computer vision techniques known as computational imaging. These include capturing, processing and analyzing such modalities for various applications of scene understanding.

Optical imaging of biological systems has undergone spectacular development in recent years, producing a quantity and a quality of information that, just twenty years ago, could only be dreamed of by physicists, biologists and physicians. Unconventional imaging systems provide access to physical quantities - phase, absorption, optical index, the polarization property of a wave or the chemical composition of an object - not accessible to conventional measurement systems. To achieve this, these systems use special optical setups and specific digital image processing to reconstruct physical quantities. This field is also known as computational imaging. This book presents various non-conventional imaging modalities developed for the biomedical field: wave front analysis imaging, digital holography/tomography, optical nanoscopy, endoscopy and singlesensor imaging. Experimental setups and reconstruction algorithms are presented for each modality.

This book describes the main concepts used to develop and implement chemistry-transport models to calculate the evolution of regional air pollution. Since physico-chemical principles are already widely presented in various works, the perspective chosen for this book concerns the modeling of these processes. As modeling can be a simplification of reality in a particular study framework, we will try to show whether the processes represented are well modeled or not. For each process, we will discuss the simplifying assumptions that have been made, the various possible ways for improvement and the impact of these simplifications on the desired results. General information on pollution is presented, followed by observations, legislation, modeling of meteorology and then chemistry-transport, anthropogenic and natural emissions, depots, validation of calculations, optimization and data assimilation.

Developed over several decades, the concept of aquatic biotechnology refers to aquatic organisms, be they of animal or plant origin. It involves transforming biological resources into products for human and animal consumption. The emergence of transgenic fish (such as AquAdvantage salmon) and their use as foodstuffs has reopened the societal debate on the place of genetically modified organisms in our diet.
