It is my prayer that after reading this book, you will be just like Jabez in 1Chronicles 4:9-10, whose desire was to be more and to do more for God. We have lost people, hurting people, and a hurting nation that needs to hear from us as Christians. As a clarion call to Christians everywhere, I recite the Jabez Prayer. And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "O, that You would bless me indeed, And enlarge my territory, That you would keep me from evil, That I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested. 1 Chronicles 4:10 (NKJV) I am a 1971 graduate of Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas, where I obtained a bachelor's of science degree in nursing along with a double minor in psychology and sociology. To meet the requirements of the Board of Nurse Examiners, I returned to the university in 1977 and completed my Masters of science degree in 1980 in Health Care Administration. In 1992 I attended Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where I completed course work toward my doctoral degree in higher education. I have served as trustee, lay committee member, taught young adult Sunday school classes, and sang in the sanctuary choir. From 1997 to 2003 I attended Bible Study Fellowship International. Later I worked with four- and five-year-olds and in hospitality.

One late spring afternoon I was sitting on the patio overlooking a small lake behind my home. I noticed that several little children were tossing rocks into the water. Ordinarily I wouldn't have noticed this, except the Holy Spirit called my attention to the rocks hitting the water and how each rock caused ripples to go out in a seemingly endless pattern. "What does it mean?" I asked after a while of contemplation. The Holy Spirit very quietly answered me and said, "That's what personal evangelism is." Every stone tossed into that muddy lake was the love of God being cast out by His people. Each ripple represented the effect the love, kindness, compassion, faithfulness, peace, and grace of God had on this sin-filled world. The ripples went out further and further. You touch a life today, and that life touches another life, and so on .... My name is LeVerta Massey. I was born and raised in California. I came to Michigan in 1979 and am the mother of three adult children, grandmother of 9, and great-grandmother of 12. My hobbies are drawing, oil and acrylic painting. While residing in Oklahoma in the early 90's, I embraced the religion of Al-Islam and all the Christian up-bringing went out the door.
