Geospatial analysis of dengue fever in João Pessoa, Cabedelo and Bayeux - Caio Américo Pereira Almeida - Bog

Bag om Geospatial analysis of dengue fever in João Pessoa, Cabedelo and Bayeux

Dengue is one of the most important arboviruses transmitted to humans through the bite of infected mosquitoes. The spread of the dengue virus is influenced by the socio-environmental conditions of a given place, which facilitate the dispersal of its main vector, Aedes Aegypti. In this context, the author seeks to analyze the spread of dengue cases through the use of statistics, geoprocessing and on-site analysis of the areas with the highest records of this disease, in order to mitigate the occurrence of dengue and provide a better quality of life for the population of João Pessoa, Cabedelo and Bayeux. It is important to note that the book is of great importance for public health management, as it uses as a methodological tool the combination of numerical results and cartographic representations that can be used to analyze various types of illness - in addition to dengue - as long as they are georeferenced in geographic space. This book is therefore aimed at professionals and students of Geography, Public Health and related areas who are interested in mitigating pathogens such as dengue.
