But Oma forbids Hyong Bae Oh from playing with Zoey because she is different from them. He is sad and lonely for months without his friend. And then one day something terrible happens; Oma gets very sick and must go to the hospital. Hyong Bae Oh sees Zoey and gets the chance to tell her what has happened. Will she and her mother be able to help Oma understand that people who are different still be friends? In this children's story, a Korean American boy and a Black girl become friends and help the adults in their lives learn an important lesson about overcoming differences.
