My Mark Twain - William Dean Howells - Bog

Bag om My Mark Twain

My Mark Twain is a memoir written by William Dean Howells, a close friend and literary contemporary of Mark Twain. The book is a collection of personal anecdotes, letters, and essays that provide insight into the life and character of one of America's most beloved authors. Howells recounts his first meeting with Twain, their subsequent friendship, and their collaborations on various literary projects. He also shares his observations on Twain's humor, his writing process, and his views on religion and politics. The book offers a unique perspective on Twain as a person, rather than just a literary figure, and provides readers with a deeper understanding of his life and work.We had a jubilant fortnight in working the particulars of these things out. It was not possible for Clemens to write like anybody else, but I could very easily write like Clemens, and we took the play scene and scene about, quite secure of coming out in temperamental agreement. The characters remained for the most part his, and I varied them only to make them more like his than, if possible, he could. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
