Sofia Owens is a Romance Novelist. She has just finished writing her fifth novel of a series she's been working on. She always gives her proofs to her mother, sister, best friend, and five other friends. she gives them one month to finish the proof, then report back to her with their feedback. Sofia waits a month, but she doesn't hear back from any of them. So, she takes the initiative to give them all a call and find out how far along they are with reading her novel. Well, after calling them, she comes to find out that nobody has finished, and some haven't even started reading the novel. Sofia gets discouraged, but her agent and good friend, Marshall, reassures her that the novel is great, after all, he had read the entire novel and edited it himself. He encourages her to go ahead and publish it. So, she does. A few weeks go by, and Marshall brings Sofia the numbers on her book sales for her newly published novel, but they're not good. Sofia starts to think that this new novel that she had just written and published has got to be cursed. First, none of her proof readers had finished the novel, now her book sales were down, compared to all her novels before. She decides that she's not going to finish her new series, even after she has already started writing the next novel. She also decides that she feels it's time she stopped writing and move onto something else. Marshall tries to talk her out of it, by trying to encourage her to finish the series she has already started and telling her that she's a great writer. When Sofia doesn't listen to his advice, Marshall decides to take matters into his own hands. Meanwhile, could Sofia be falling in love with Marshall?
