This book discusses the spirit of love in a letter to a friend. The friend's objections rather tend to stir up the powers of love, than the wrangle of a rational debate, so Mr. Law considered them only as motives and occasions of edifying both his friend and himself with the truth, the power, and divine blessedness of the spirit of love.
