Spiritwood - Jacqueline Dooley - Bog

15-year-old Mac, fresh out of cancer treatment, is horrified when he witnesses a young leukemia patient being kidnapped by mysterious men in the strangest possible way - by dragging him into the center of an old oak tree in the hospital's healing garden. Compelled to help, Mac follows the captors through the enchanted oak into Spiritwood, a realm of interconnected worlds. There, he meets Zharo, a dragon prince whose forest home is under threat from a sinister magic that is slowly killing the trees. Forging an uneasy alliance, Mac and Zharo must work together to stop the evil spreading through Spiritwood before it infects all the linked worlds, including Mac's. They don't have much time to figure it out before it's too late for both their worlds.
