The Muslims have been blessed with scholars in every century who strive to teach and preserve the guidance of Islaam in both knowledge and practice. Yet there are many voices in the world today that claim to speak for Islaam. As such, it is a blessing for Muslims today that our well-known scholars continue to work diligently in clarifying false ideas and practices that are attributes to Islaam by non-Muslims and by Muslims themselves. Despite this, many Muslims have misconceptions about the benefit of efforts to clarify and determine what beliefs and practices actually have a basis in the original source texts of Islaam. This work addresses many of those misconceptions and explains why these clarifications are not only important but indispensable today.
