Lawrence Malone, private detective is hired by the three Crabbe bothers who believe they will be charged with the murder of their uncle.
The case is almost open-and-shut against the youngest, a reckless lad.
One complication is that there appeared to be no exit available to the killer. In any case, there are forces which don't want Malone to be on this mystery. His life is in peril.
