The Storms of Eddie Greer - Mary Perrine - Bog

Bag om The Storms of Eddie Greer

For generations, the Greer men have perfected the fine art of assholery. And Eddie Greer does not disappoint. For most children, summers in the 60s and 70s in the small town of Holland Crossing are spent splashing in lakes, playing backyard baseball, and biking with friends-but not for Eddie. The only thing he plays is defense against his father's drunken abuse. But even fleeing at the first sound of the devil's heavy footsteps, sometimes, isn't enough to keep him safe. Weathering verbal assaults, airborne objects, the shooting of his dog Zeppelin, and an attack by his baseball bat-wielding father all come at a tremendous cost, driving Eddie deeper into the same mold from which his ancestors were cut. Even after adamantly denying he will ever become the next George Greer, Eddie seamlessly steps into the role following his father's questionable death. He alternates his misguided anger between his daughter, sickly grandson, and the townspeople. But it is his wife, Jules, a woman incapable of giving him the one thing he needs, a son to carry on the Greer name, who lands squarely in his crosshairs. Greer storms have been brewing for well over a century. No woman has dared defy her husband-until now. When Jules walks out, and Eddie's twenty-two-year-old grandson meets an unexpected fate, he questions everything he believes to be true. Eddie can't shake the feeling his story is more twisted than he knows. And he wonders if he can reclaim his life before the storms destroy the possibility of redemption, forgiveness, and reconciliation.
