The Supernatural Cases of Neptune King is the 29th book in the series. In The Haunted House, the detectives are hired to investigate a unique house belonging to an actor who killed himself, to prove whether it is or isn't haunted. The actor lost his house to the bank and vowed that if he couldn't have it, no one else would either before killing himself. They take along their psychic ex-client Keeley Simmonds on their first visit to the house, but none of them stay long enough to make much of an investigation being overcome with sheer terror. Keeley is convinced there is a malevolent presence there. No one, not even paranormal experts have been able to stay more than ten minutes in the house and no one ever dares to return. The only difference is Neptune and Shark plan on going back. In their second case, The Ghostly Client, they are hired by a ghost who materializes in Neptune's office asking for help. Neptune is delighted, while Shark is a little put out. After all, this client can't pay them for their services. Neptune deduces that the man was recently murdered and that his body hasn't as yet been found.The Man from Nowhere is another case that tickles Neptune's fancy. Mrs Mabel Porter is distraught because she ran over a man that suddenly appeared on the road in front of her. One minute the road was clear, the next he was there. He materialized out of thin air.
