Bag om TIME AND THE QUANTUM
While it is self-evident that the amount we can learn about reality must be limited by the power of our brains, our science has nothing to say about this constraint. The power can be quantified by the average time, tau, our brains take to process a bit of information. This number proves to be the missing connection between reality and the ¿consciousness¿ of the observer required by the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics. It also provides the ¿tick¿ of a personal neurological scale of time that both quantifies our ¿psychological¿ arrow of time and is the natural scale for our observations (as opposed to our theoretical descriptions) of reality. Quanta are what appear at the scale of reality where the discontinuity of this scale becomes significant. In a new logic system (physics+tau) located on the border with neuroscience, all the familiar paradoxes of quantum mechanics are reduced to common sense, without affecting its validity in the objective logic of physics. Einstein would be pleased that God no longer needs to play dice.
