At nine years old, he is kicked out of school and forced to make his way in the world through working odd jobs and eventually building up a career. The day before his 1958 wedding, the stable, well-paying job he has worked his way up to lays him off, leaving him back at square one.

Unbelievable but True is Robert's story, from his humble beginnings to his constant drive for financial security and to find meaning in his life.
