Bag om Watch Out for Topes
Helen Murray White fell in love with Mexico when she and her husband visited Mexico City in 1968. Now, forty-seven years later, they are still coming to Mexico, sometimes driving, sometimes flying. Influenced by the desirable climate and local beauty they bought a house in 2008 at Lake Chapala and now divide their time between the United States and Mexico. They have seen many changes in Mexico, but some things never change. The people are still warm and friendly, always ready to share what they have. Mexicans have a saying, "If guests come and there aren't enough beans, just add a little more water to the pot." "Watch Out For Topes," is a memoir about the couple's travels across Mexico. Each short story contains nuggets of information about Mexican culture, showing the joy of living in this colorful, diverse country. The title, "Watch Out for Topes" has a double meaning. It cautions drivers to be alert and observant, be ready to stop or make quick changes, and slow down. Following that advice will make our lives happier.
