As some of you may know, this is not the first book I have written on the world of the Bass Guitar, in fact I think it is the thirteenth (or something like that). But I felt that I had not created something really and totally (not that previous teaching methods are not!) useful, for those whose goal is to make music their profession, or, at the very least, for those who want to be able to play to the best of their ability, in as many musical contexts as possible. So I'm going to try, premising that I am a bass player by profession, but I do not consider myself a professional bass player. I have only gained about 20 years of experience, gigging, studying, and more.To recap, I will try, with all my might, to give you as much advice as I can, and I will also try to get you to avoid the mistakes (many) that I have made over time!!! So guys, this, rather than a real teaching method, we could define it as a kind of "manual" for optimizing various studies, based, as I said, on my experiences, both as a musician and as a teacher.
Klang und Musik bieten vielfältiges Material, um die Anwendbarkeit von Mathematik darzulegen. Im vorliegenden Buch haben wir die Mathematik auf dem Niveau eines Bachelorstudiums vor Augen. Kettenbrücke, die Wellengleichung in verschiedenen Dimensionen, Fourieranalyse, Besselfunktionen und Besselgleichung, das Verfahren der stationären Phase, die Diskriminante von Polynomen. Das Konzept ist in mehreren Vorlesungen erprobt: Stoff aus Analysisvorlesungen wird durch die anschaulichen Themen dieses Buches lebendig gemacht, wasinsbesondere für Lehramtstudierende hilfreich sein kann.
"Spielen als Andacht" ist unmittelbar aus dem Hören der Streichquartette Joseph Haydns anhand von CD-Einspielungen (vor allem des Kodály-Quartetts) formuliert. Hat Haydn das Streichquartett "erfunden"? Sicher nicht! Und doch: wenn auch andere Komponisten, voran Luigi Boccherini, seinerzeit entsprechende Entwürfe für zwei Violinen, Viola und Violoncello vorlegten, so war es eben Haydn, der solches instrumentale Spielen in, ja als "Andacht" in einem quasi-religiösen Sinn entwarf und es damit in eine Ernsthaftigkeit hob, die, von Mozart angefangen, allen folgenden Komponisten zum Maßstab wurde. In Haydns Quartetten wendet sich instrumentales Spielen sozusagen (zuerst) dem Spielenden und dann auch dem Mit-Spielenden (= Hörenden) zu. Es versetzt diese in eine Art hingegebene Konzentration, die sich, wenn auch zugegeben spekulativ, als wohl noch unmittelbar aus einer selbstverständlichen Religiosität des Komponisten herleiten lässt. Die "Quadros" Haydns, als ein Selberspielen "entre nous" entworfen, erscheinen uns so zumindest ab dem sog. Op. 9 als eine abschließende Etappe religiöser Emanzipation innerhalb einer spezifisch katholischen Welt am Ende der Frühen Neuzeit. Indem wir ihnen als einer Art Andacht begegnen, in der persönliche Religiosität bzw. religiöse Ausgangssujets in ein emanzipiert-meditatives Spielen und vor allem Mitspielen (= Hören) übertragen und verallgemeinert erscheinen, lassen sie uns die alte Kontroverse zwischen einem angeblichen "Vergnügen des Verstandes" (Haydn) und einem "emotionalen Wert" (Boccherini) obsolet werden.

Am Mainufer erschallen aus vorbeifahrenden Autos Dabke-Rhythmen. Gospel music is composed and performed for many purposes, including aesthetic pleasure, religious or ceremonial purposes, and as an entertainment product for the marketplace.
This investigation of Polish, Jewish, and German sources demonstrates the roles of music in occupied Poland. Its former citizens had their access to music controlled by the Nazi Ministry of Propaganda. It was rationed as other goods, depending on racial (i.e. also legal) status. Official music performances served as a propagandistic tool to further divide the Nazi-segregated population. Music played clandestinely embodied resistance. It restored the sense of community and helped save musicians persecuted as Jews, like W¿adys¿aw Szpilman. The documents analyzed in the monograph confirm the dehumanization of prospective victims, mixed with a narcissistic self-righteous view of Nazi songs and propaganda ultimately led to the organized presence of music in the Holocaust sites.
