He is able to swim faster than any other dolphin and emits a bright blue light. When King Neptune sees him he names the glowing dolphin Beacon. Beacon utilizes his new found powers to help sailors and fishermen in distress.

Beacon Helps Santa is a children's short picture story about a magical dolphin and his two friends who help Santa deliver Christmas presents to boys and girls in the Florida Keys. Beacon, the title character was involved in a life changing incident. After the incident Beacon emits a bright blue glow from his entire body and he can swim faster than any other dolphin in the sea.
