This is the second volume of a guide to every book, article and reference dealing with the 140,000 Genizah fragments at Cambridge. Most areas of Jewish studies are represented here. The main section contains over 25,000 items of information, and further listings include addenda and corrigenda to the first volume.
Following the publication of the first two volumes of Hebrew Bible Manuscripts in the Cambridge Genizah Collections, the substantial process of describing the MS fragments is now complete. These new volumes present a comprehensive catalogue of the Hebrew Bible fragments in the Taylor-Schechter Additional Series, describing in detail 14,679 items.
This volume describes almost 9,500 Arabic and Judaeo-Arabic fragments of the Cairo Genizah. The manuscripts include Bible translations and commentaries, philosophical, medical and historical texts, as well as business and private letters and will be of interest to a wide range of scholars.
This collection of original contributions by international experts summarizes recent developments in Genizah research. Beginning with an overview of the contents of the Cambridge Genizah Hebrew manuscripts, the essays provide an introduction to important intellectual, religious and social developments in the Jewish communities of the medieval Islamic world.
