The fourth annual Current Research in Egyptology Symposium (CRE 2003) was held on 18-19 January 2003, at the Institute of Archaeology, UCL, and brought together graduate students of Egyptology from a range of institutions.In total, 27 papers were presented, 13 of which are published here.
The fifth annual Current Research in Egyptology Symposium was held in January 2004, at the University of Durham. The conference offers the majority of postgraduates researching Egyptology their first opportunity to present academic work to their peers, and to receive critical feedback.
The sixth annual Current Research in Egyptology symposium took place from 6th-8th January 2005 at the University of Cambridge. Although the topics covered by the papers were many and varied, if there is a general theme it would be that of exploring the borders and parameters of the discipline of Egyptology.

After having been held in the UK for the past 10 years, the 11th edition of the annual Current Research in Egyptology (CRE) graduate conference was held at Leiden University, The Netherlands in January 2010.
The twelfth annual Current Research in Egyptology symposium aimed to highlight the multidisciplinary nature of the field of Egyptology. The fourteenth Current Research in Egyptology conference, held at the University of Cambridge in March 2013 brought together speakers and attendees from six continents and hosted more than 50 presentations covering multiple aspects of Egyptology and its related fields.
