In a world where super human abilities are common, the population strays from putting them to good use, or any use at all in most cases. "Realization" follows several characters as their paths cross periodically. From the overweight, over ambitious, and borderline naïve Franchise, to the media ridiculed and dubbed 'Loner'. Franchise believes in the idea of a hero. He believes people that can help, should help. He personifies this attitude while trying to recruit anyone and everyone willing to support this cause and help defend their dear city. Whereas Loner has only one priority. Finding the one thing that was taken from him long ago. Other people's problems are just that; their problems. Franchise compiles a list of suitable prospective heroes for his cause. As he galivants around the city recruiting underwhelming, lack luster, but willing heroes, he realizes someone has beat him to the punch. Someone is kidnapping the names higher ranking on his list. Franchise and Loner's paths intersect as they both try to get back what someone else has taken. They soon realize, the threat is much more than anyone had anticipated.
Good. Bad. Indifferent. Our heroes realize there are consequences to their actions. Discouraged, beaten, and broken, the team tries to hold things together. The team's talents are repurposed directly for the benefit of the city under the watchful eye of the new commissioner. The Heroes continue to gain unlikely members as a pair of conjoined twins join their ranks. Meanwhile, Boss Winston continues to push the boundaries of the Engineer's elemental applicators. As SYNERGY's new creations terrorize the city, Franchise decides that it is time that SYNERGY be dealt with. Permanently.
