A second Air Pollution Pilot Study (1975-1979) worked out the basics for setting up assessment methods for emissions inven tories, techniques for the practical application of meteorologi cal diffusion models as well as the development of guidelines for an Air Quality Management System (AQMS).
Air pollution remains a major environmental issue despite many years of study and much legislative control. The topics were: - emission invetories for and source treatment in air pollution dispersion models; - regional and global scale dispersion mOdelling; - new developments in dispersion modelling and theory.
This is the first in a new series of publications arlslng out of the work of the Committee on Challenges of Modern Society of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
