Love to Let Go is the second in a series of books describing the six practices parents need to undertake to effectively launch their young adult. It is about unconditional love. The first practice described in Can You Speak "Millennial "ese" is about understanding your young adult. Both practices are foundational to being the best parent you can be in helping your young adult successfully move toward behavioral and emotional independence. Subsequent books will address the other four practices essential to launching one's young adult: apology, forgiveness, supportive integrity, and letting go.
The goal of this book is to provide general principles and guidelines that parents can follow that speak to the need to be understanding, loving, forgiving, and compassionate while exhibiting backbone-the ability to say "no." In most cases guidelines and principles are followed by applications and examples. Being a parent of a young adult is more challenging than at any other time in history, yet parents of young adults are often ignored with a view that their job is done, so education and resources are often in short supply. This book will help you learn why, how, and when to stand your ground and set limits that will enable your young adult to move toward responsible independence.
