The Princess of the Sea tells the story of Miranda, a beautiful mermaid who lives in a cave at the bottom of the Mewstone, a large outcrop of rock just off the south coast of Devon, and of her adventures with her friends. The characters are fictitious, but the locations are real. The author combines fantasy with fiction to create a magical story.

This is the second book in the Princess of the Sea series, about the adventures of Miranda, the mermaid, and her friends. Captain James Sylvester Pendragon, a notorious buccaneer from Penzance, is cast adrift in an open boat in the choppy waters of the English Channel. Luckily, help is at hand when Miranda swims to their rescue.
