It is 1962. The first man has gone into space. After Peter sees a strange light in the sky he and his friends set out to explore where they think it had landed. But Peter vanishes and there is no explanation for his disappearance. He has gone 58 years into the future. The world is a very different place. But how can he survive; who would believe him? How can he return to his own time and who can help him? A mysterious old man and a kind younger one may provide the clue.
Peter Svensen has grown up, no longer the boy who discovered a way to travel through time. Now he has become a member of The Quantum Research Labs, known also as DI88 or The Quantum Agency. The last time he saw Peter Page was at his Christening. Although, even now, he did not know that. He is visiting his 'old' friends Matt, Stephen and the son they have named after him, Peter Page. There was a reason for his visit. His knowledge had told him how important this boy was going to be. At first things go as the timeline has predicted, but not perhaps as Peter Page could have imagined. But then, all does not go as Peter Svensen could have hoped. Others, whom they have relied on, are not who they seem, and an attack on the Agency's Quantum equipment sends them on the run with fellow agent Jennifer. The timeline is in jeopardy, if their enemy gets his way the world will be a very different place indeed. They need help to save the timeline. They find it, but not only in this Quantum existence.
