Mrs. Gordon's third grade students are so lucky to share their classroom with Chance, a boy who was born with>They are learning that everyone is different in their own way, and sometimes, our differences can look like having 'leaky brakes.' Just like a car has brakes to stop, children have brakes in their brains to help them stop certain behaviours. When a child's brakes are leaky, they may have a hard time stopping some of these behaviours. Mrs. Gordon's students are learning how to recognize children with 'leaky brakes' and how to support them within an inclusive classroom.
