Sportives! is a collection of black and white portraits of women practicing sports. All sports of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris are represented. The photos show women of all ages, of all origins, coming from all regions of France, amateurs in the first sense of Olympism. The artistic vision is the encounter between women's sport and the gaze of a photographer. Eric Mistler combines all the emotions created by sport with the timelessness of black and white photography. For Mistler, each shooting session is a moment of complicity and empathy with the woman practicing her sport; he offers a subtle mix of pure portraits and portraits in action. By his vision he sublimates the splendour of sport.
It is hard to define what an art scene actually is. With a sense of irony and plenty of self-confidence, Gregor Guski (*1981 in Olsztyn, Poland) has titled his book "Die Szene" (The Scene), as if there were only one. He is in fact referring to the Düsseldorf art scene, or more precisely, to those artists whose works are currently setting trends and whose personalities have a decisive influence on events in the city. Aside from the big names, graduates of the Düsseldorf Art Academy, and up-and-coming newcomers, Guski presents the Düsseldorf fringe scene in all its variety. His photographs are not documentary, but radically experimental. In close communication with the artists, Guski's photo shoots take place in the protagonists' studios or in environments that shape their art. The photographs become works of art in their own right - flamboyantly decorated theatrical stages in which the sitters are the performers."Die Szene" is an attempt to portray the current artists and trends of the Düsseldorf art scene. Almost 100 artists from all artistic genres are presented.
Halloween Underground is the culmination of twenty years of photographing people dressed up in fantastical, outlandish costumes against the backdrop of the drab, gritty reality of the New York subway. Seymour Licht captured revelers preening in their outfits as the prelude to the largest Halloween parade in the world - or some private night out where creativity is the currency and mystery and flirtation the prize. The subway becomes the unofficial backstage to the main events of the night, the dark tunnels and ghastly lit platforms, the holding room of the supernatural, eerie and phantasmagorical protagonists. It is only on Halloween that you can enthusiastically change your identity, and the subway is the perfect mode to transport you from the mundane to the spellbinding. You may dream of going out in public dressed as a Pharaoh, a seductive witch, an axe murderer or a mermaid. Halloween is New York in its most heightened state of quirky ingenuity. With his edgy, uncanny portraits, the photographer aims to pay tribute to the outbursts of creativity during this exuberant, spooky holiday in the iconic New York subway.
Devotion, understood as pure, all-encompassing love that only wants to give without asking for anything in return, is one of the founding values of Dolce & Gabbana. At Dolce & Gabbana the concept of “devotion” is part of the very idea of work: it is as if something mystical is hidden behind every sketch, embroidery, and stitch. The fashion house’s most iconic bag is intentionally called Devotion precisely to pay homage to this feeling. A strongly sacred component accompanies many of the brand’s sartorial creations, accessories, and jewelry, which draw on the evocations of Sicilian popular culture mixed with a high degree of religiosity. And while the sacred heart, the saints, the Madonna, the rosary, and the cross are some of the most recurrent themes and elements in the collections, processions, funerals, masses, and the figures of bishops, popes, and religious devotees continue to represent a constant source of inspiration. In addition to the advertising campaigns, the most iconic images of the collections, and numerous shots portraying religious holidays in Sicily, the book will be enriched with many photos taken specifically for this publication by important Italian photographers under the direct guidance of Domenico Dolce on the set.
Sicily and its cuisine reinterpreted through the unique style of Dolce & Gabbana.Through the most evocative recipes of Sicilian tradition, readers will be able to discover the unique way of living and the lifestyle embodied by Dolce & Gabbana Casa, which is also told through its distinctive tableware objects.Parmiggiana, Timballo del Gattopardo, Minne di Sant’Agata, Cuccia, San Giuseppe bread, and many other delicacies become the starting point for revealing the history, folklore, and territory of Sicily. The people and cultures that have alternated on the island over the centuries have in fact made its cuisine extraordinarily varied, resulting in an incredible stratification of colors, scents, and flavors. In the second part of the book, the recipes—interpreted through the lenses of three internationally renowned still life photographers—will allow readers to make their own Sicilian dishes to serve on the dinner table with an increased awareness of their value, which is as unique as the Dolce & Gabbana Casa lifestyle. It is a sophisticated, refined book that will stand out from all other cookbooks on the market thanks to its extra-large format.

Spreeblitz is a collection of black and white photographs taken over a tenyear period in Spreepark, a themepark in Plänterwald in the Treptow-Köpenick suburb of Berlin that was formerly under GDR control. In 2001,the park declared bankruptcy, and thearea was characterized by ruin and vandalism. Berlin bought the parkback in 2014 and the plan is to reestablish the area as a modern cultural park around 2026. During the years nature has slowly reclaimed its old space. Texts by Jytte Rex and Tove Thage.Fie Johansen (b. 1953) is one of the pioneers of digital art photography in Denmark. She has infused digital technology with the spirit and soul of analogue darkroom technology. She studied and worked at the Institute for Visual Communication at the Royal Danish Academy while co-founding Billedhuset, an association of leading Danish and Swedish art and documentary photographers. She was awarded the Photographic Book Prize by the Ministry of Culture in 1997, and she took part in the extensive photo documentary project Denmark in Transition, from 2006 to 2011. She has been awarded thethree-year work grant from the Ministry of Culture and the Ole Haslund Foundation´s honorary award. “Fie Johansen masters and liberates photography. With few ordinary props, she creates cinematographic scenes and captures the tensions and anxieties of a claustrophobic urban environment where freedom, pleasure, and curiosity are now held in check, frozen in time. Spreeblitz is melancholy, but the sorrow is caught in a propitiatory humorous overawareness. The subjects stand independently, sometimes morphing into enigmatic, amorphous shadows. Not even a flashlight would help here, where the darkness in the deeplyt inted prints is all-encompassing.” (Tove Thage)

What would happen if humankind were to disappear? What would planet earth look like without us? In his monograph The World Without Us, Rainer Zerback (b. 1958) shows us such a world-in quiet images, shimmering with heat but without any trace of apocalyptic bluster. Targeted image editing brings individual everyday items into sharp focus. We encounter only traces of human civilization: cars, electricity pylons, all kinds of different dwellings. What at first glance gives the impression of peaceful seclusion, is at second glance unsettling and disconcerting.Rainer Zerback began Contemplationes at the end of the 1990s and continued the series until 2022. It comprises a total of sixty-nine works, fifty of which are collected for the first time in this publication. In her accompanying text, cultural scientist Lotte Dinse for the first time in reception history develops the interpretation of the series as a depiction of a 'World without Us'.
