Popular culture today manifests itself in a dense network of styles and genres, while the aesthetic preferences of the Audience are highly differentiated. Besides, popular culture also implies a diversity of aesthetic strategies, discourses and value systems that traverse the symbolic demarcations between styles and genres and are effective across different artistic fields and individual media. Aesthetic concepts such as camp, retro or trash are expressions of a transgressive mode of Production that facilitates a multitude of cross-connections between aesthetic spaces of experience. Since the 1990s, an increasing number of young men in Cameroon have aspired to play football as a career and a strategy to migrate abroad. Migration through the sport promises fulfillment of masculine dreams of sports stardom, as well as opportunities to earn a living that have been hollowed out by the country's long economic stalemate. The aspiring footballers are increasingly turning to Pentecostal Christianity, which allows them to challenge common tropes of young men as stubborn and promiscuous, while also offering a moral and bodily regime that promises success despite the odds. Yet the transnational sports market is tough and unpredictable: it demands disciplined young bodies and introduces new forms of uncertainty. This book unpacks young Cameroonians' football dreams, Pentecostal faith, obligations to provide, and desires to migrate to highlight the precarity of masculinity in structurally adjusted Africa and neoliberal capitalism.

¿Move and Meet¿ ¿ der Titel dieser Arbeit ist zugleich der Name eines Sport- und Bildungsvereins, der sich im Rahmen der Forschungen zur vorliegenden Studie im Jahr 2021 gründete. Der Verein ist damit das Produkt eines Teilhabe-Experiments, das 2017 in einem ersten Sportkurs für Frauen mit Fluchterfahrung seinen Anfang nahm. Dieser wurde als anwendungsorientierter Teil der vorliegenden Studie im Bereich der Angewandten Ethnologie konzipiert und entwickelte sich zu einem Begegnungs- und Empowerment-Raum, der auf den Motiven und Bedarfen der Sportlerinnen, der haupt- und ehrenamtlichen Trainerinnen und weiterer Engagierter beruhte. Diese Studie zeigt auf, welchen Beitrag der Sport für die soziale und gesellschaftliche Teilhabe von Menschen mit Migrations- und Fluchterfahrung und insbesondere für Frauen mit Fluchterfahrung leisten kann. Repräsentation und Partizipation, Ressourcen, Sportmotive und -bedarfe sowie die Kommunikation und Interaktion von Sportler:innen und Engagierten werden in den Blick genommen. Die Bedeutung einer diversitätssensiblen Vereinsentwicklung für den Sportverein als Sport-, Begegnungs- und Bildungsakteur wird herausgearbeitet.

This book looks at the potential of sport to contribute to wide-ranging development outcomes, which have been recognized across international policy declarations, most significantly in the 2030 UN Agenda for Sustainable Development. Die damit verbundenen Umstände bergen das Risiko, die Lebensqualität der Betroffenen zu verringern. Eine Fördermöglichkeit könnte in der Einführung von Yoga-Kursen bestehen, da empirische Untersuchungen mit verschiedenen Studienpopulationen die Schlussfolgerung nahelegen, dass sich eine regelmäßige Yoga-Praxis positiv auf verschiedene Parameter auswirkt, die mit den Konstrukten von Lebensqualität und Wohlbefinden assoziiert sind. Für die vorliegende Arbeit wurde daher ein Yoga-Kurskonzept entwickelt, das den Bedürfnissen von Bewohner*innen von stationären Altenpflegeeinrichtungen ohne Demenzerkrankungen gerecht zu werden anstrebt und in Form einer Pilotstudie in einer stationären Altenpflegeeinrichtung erprobt.

'Athletes first' is a slogan the International Olympic Committee often touts, but the reality is very different, as pre-eminent Olympics expert Jules Boykoff shows in this book. While the world's attention is riveted by the triumphs and tribulations on their screens, there is much that goes on behind the scenes that is deeply troubling: athletes are increasingly voicing concerns over physical, mental, and sexual abuse, and they are collectively expressing grievances around equity and human rights. This book examines the bodies, communities, and cultures that evolve in different online doping spaces. By engaging in critical analysis of the interrelatedness of online and offline doped realities, the book provides a comprehensive analysis influenced by digital sociology and feminist theory. It focuses on the intersection of doping, bodies, and technology, and is structured around three interconnected themes prominent in doping research but less acknowledged in online environments: doping spaces and communities; gender and power relationships; and the relationship between online activities and offline social life. Building on extensive online research with different drug communities and doping spaces, the authors illustrate how the online world of doping has developed into a digital ecosystem, and present an argument for understanding doping as a cyborgified concept. Erkundende und spielerische Aktivitäten sind für die frühkindliche Entwicklung von zentraler Bedeutung. Dies wird sowohl in entwicklungspsychologischen als auch in bewegungspädagogischen Überlegungen immer wieder herausgestellt. Im Bereich der elementaren Bewegungsfertigkeiten bieten insbesondere offene Bewegungsangebote, wie die Bewegungsbaustelle, besondere Potenziale für solche Aktivitäten. Gerade im Kleinkindbereich wurde bisher allerdings nicht empirisch und gegenstandsspezifisch untersucht, welche Formen von Bewegungsaktivitäten Kinder in der Bewegungsbaustelle vollziehen, wie die damit verbundenen Erkundungs- und Spielprozesse verlaufen und wie diese von pädagogischen Fachkräften angestoßen und begleitet werden können. In diesem Buch werden die Erkundungsaktivitäten von ein- bis dreijährigen Krippenkindern in der Bewegungsbaustelle in den Blick genommen und im Rahmen einer qualitativen Untersuchung einer empirisch-rekonstruktiven Analyse unterzogen. In einem Untersuchungszeitraum von drei Monaten wurden dazu 23 Stunden Videomaterial in einer Hamburger Krippe erhoben und anschließend mit den Verfahren der Grounded Theory Methode ausgewertet. An neuere sozial-konstruktivistische Konzepte in der Frühpädagogik anschließend werden in einem Ausblick erste Ansätze herausgearbeitet, wie Fachkräfte offene Bewegungssituationen im Kontext der rekonstruierten Erkundungsaktivitäten entwicklungsförderlich betreuen und begleiten können.

Denn keineswegs überall, wo Kauf- oder Verbrauchsakte empirisch stattfinden, definieren diese die jeweilige Situation auch in Gänze, so dass nahezu sämtliche Aufmerksamkeit durch die damit verbundenen, kommerziell orientierten Erlebnisse und Handlungen physisch, psychisch und sozial okkupiert wird, bei weitgehender Neutralisierung aller sonstigen Rollenverpflichtungen. Denn wie schon die soziologische Rollentheorie festgestellt hatte, orientieren sich Rollenspiele immer an gewissen Images, Rationalitätsfiktionen, Stereotypen, d. h. Normen des Rollenverhaltens, die Richtung und Reichweite typischen Rollenverhaltens vorschreiben und anleiten.
